If you are new to internet marketing, there is one thing that you need to know that should help you to keep going until you accomplish your goals.

This thing you need to know is that there is money for you to make in the internet marketing world. There is no question about it. There is space here enough for another dozen of us to become big players in this industry.

As a newbie I'm seeing hard work start to pay off. There's a lot of opportunity, but it does take hard work and commitment. I've seen a lot of people quit because they aren't making money right away, but it just takes time and consistency.

There's plenty of money, and plenty of opportunity, but you need to start taking action NOW. Worst noob mistake is spending months learning all they can without following through all the way on any one thing.

Pick a WSO, pick a training product. Follow it to the letter, all the way through. Apply your own spin. Does it Work? If it doesn't why? Can you make it work?

the experience you gain will stay with you for the rest of your IM life. Not everything will work, but you'll never know until l you try. Eventually something will, and even better something will that you actually enjoy doing!

That's the Eureka moment. That's when you expand and quit your 9-5.

But you'll never get there unless you start: affiliate marketing/video marketing/building your own product/collecting targeted lists/trying out CPA/offering services/doing offline SEO whatever it is that strikes your eye.

Enough learning.... start doing.

Actually getting started is definitely something that a lot of people struggle with.

It's so important to try and maintain a good balance between extra reading and putting what you know into practice, where the vast majority is actual creativity. Like, 80% development, 20% research, because we all learn so much more though doing.

It's also much easier to fix something when you learn what you should have been doing when you have already have something to work from.

Similarly, WRITE. EVERYTHING. DOWN. Use paper and pen, evernote, dropbox, whatever you like, just make sure you can jot stuff down at literally any time that will never get lost. Some of our most elusive connections get made in the 'theta' brainstate, when your head slows down and disconnects from the daze we spend most of our waking time in, i.e. when you're going to sleep, from exercise euphoria, from nostalgic smells, etc.

Sitting in front of a computer isn't the most compelling place for good ideas, so you need to be able to save them for when you can work on them.

Are you saying that there is only room for 12 more people to make money in Internet Marketing??? That doesn't make any sense at all. Anyone who works hard, has the right education, and doesn't give up after short term failures can make money at this.

To say that there's only room for "another dozen" is just absurd in my opinion.

I really agree with you. It doesn't matter how much you have learn, or how much you have spent to buy e-courses, as long as you not taking any ACTION, you will go no where..

Just a bit to add to that. In addition to teaching you what DOESN"T work, experiencing bumps along the road helps you to develop the thick-skin and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment that is needed to last any length of time in this business.

Best advice I think I ever got was "fail fast". Take action on SOMETHING, go all out, follow through completely and when you've done EVERYTHING, if it still doesn't work, drop it and pick something else. Don't fret over why the first thing went wrong. You'll gain valuable experience with each failure; the key is to find the thing that DOES work for you as quickly as you can. It took me a lot of years of either a) not taking action or b) taking half hearted or incomplete action before I learned this. Once I started actually following through *completely* on projects, my third one was a winner and I haven't looked back.

I agree with you. But as a newbie, I recall how much I struggled just to get my own space in the IM world. It's true also that if you are passionate about it and you're working hard towards your goals, nothing is impossible!

A lot of new people do not realize that they have to have the right mindset to succeed and be prepared to take ACTION.
The right teacher/mentor is always great but unfortunately when you first start out how do you know who is good and who isn't.
If you have heard of a teacher/mentor type their name into Google and see if they have testimonials recommending them. Remember it is not always the dearest courses that are the best.

I think that there is space for a lot more than 12 people to make a lot of money online. If you are new to IM, the best way is to learn is by 'doing'. You can read all you want and everything always looks good on paper but in the 'real' world, practice makes perfect. More importantly...consistent daily income producing activities.

A new person should find a good system with the 'potential' to teach them everything that they need to know about money making online

Excellent post. Failure truely is a good teacher. Staying persistent and focused is what will enable many newbies to begin making money online. it's all about focusing on one proven method to generate fast cash online.

Test the niche first with PPC advertising (Google Adwords). See if your prospects will actually respond to a free offer. If they do, cool and proceed. If they don't, switch to another niche and perform the same test. The niche that responds amazingly for you is the niche that you should go in and exploit. Do lots of free marketing too.

I disagree with him that there is only one thing you need to know, personally I think there are dozens if not hundreds of variables that determine the level of success you will have in the Internet Marketing arena; action, failure, self confidence, making connections, focus, commitment, knowledge to name a few.

The reason why so many newbies fail is because they usually are introduced to Internet Marketing through some shady ' make $XXXX.99 dollars a month at the push of a button' course and their expectations are soon shattered.

There are exceptions but it's usually the sloggers who after six months, two years, whatever start finding success. They've worked through their failures, they've gained confidence, built relationships and worked hard. That's my view anyway!

I think the best way to go is to learn from somebody who has done it before. Whether that means reading a book from someone who has done it...doing a course by someone who has done it etc., I think it is important to learn from someone in the know.

One important thing that I've learned is that not all make money online models work for everyone. On one hand that can be a bad thing, because you try your hand at all of them, and on the other it's a good thing, because you have so many different models to choose from.

As long as you're willing to work towards success, it will be achieved.

true, but for newbies, keep reading and reading forums and surely the threads and posts will help you. but you need to apply what you know, you just cant sit around waiting for money to come, work your way around.

Make a firm decision that you are going to make it in internet marketing, no but, no however, no unless, no excuse!
Forget about shortcuts or quick cash. There is no shortcut. What does exist is leverage.
There are too many ways to make money online. You can make money from Adsense, PPC ads, Affiliate Marketing, Ebay, MLM etc.
Remember, there is no shortcut. You got to work hard and you got to learn fast while you work.
In offline businesses, you can hardly learn because very few people are willing to teach you. So always keep learning.

Just go to your local supermarket and look where they keep the magazines and just take a look at the covers and see whats on them. What kind of market is it and what are they advertising. Companies already invested in the research and know there is a demand for this stuff. Of course you can do the same online with all the resources that are at our fingertips. I love this industry

This is not the business for shortcuts - not that there is any viable shortcut for any good thing.

But isn't that just like the REST OF LIFE? The 80-20 rule applies to IM like it does the rest of life. 80 percent of any given resources go to 20 percent. The remaining 80 percent of people have to make due with what's left. That's how the cookie crumbles...
