GoDaddy $2.95 .com promo?

Today I clicked on an ad in my Gmail account that took me to GoDaddy's $2.95 .coms special promo offer. Here's the link: Domain Names, Web Hosting and SSL Certificates - Go Daddy - Go Daddy

I wonder what is the catch? Can I really register a .com domain for just $2.95 for first year? Anyone has used this offer?

    Hi Andrej

Of course you can get a .com domain for $2.95
If you go to 1and1.com you can even get it for $0.99 right now, they also have a special offer...

The $2.95 deal is for certain countries only. If you are in the US or Canada, you could just get the price of $0.99

The requirement to get the discounted domain registration for .com and .net is you must use a Credit Card/Debit Card or via a Cheque payment. Paypal payment is not accepted.

I just registered 3 of the domains today and it's valid for one year without the domain privacy add-on.

It's a great deal to get customer back on godaddy.

IF you just google "godaddy 99 cent offer" you will find an AD for godaddy themselves offering just that - did that yesterday and got a 99 cent domain!

No catch (usually they want you to get hosting, blah blah blah) which is cool.

It's only good for 1 domain though.

    ...so, try it folks.

Actually all you really have to do is type in "Godaddy" in Google and you will see the ad. The best thing is that this ad has been up for months now and still works.

Yeah but they'll rip you off on privacy protection and renewals.

Lol, I rather pay $9 at Namecheap than pay 99 cents at Godaddy.

The key with godaddy is to just watch out for coupons, they mail them all the time. I've had pretty good luck with them on domains, privacy and dns - I don't use their hosting but that's mostly because I like the Linux/VPS command line.

But the great thing about this business is there's TONS of competition for your hosting, domains, auto-resonders, you name it. Make good use of it, ESPECIALLY around the holidays, that seems to be when the deals are the best.

    Good Luck!
