If you use a subdomain for a squeeze page, what are the benefits and/or pitfalls.
#landing or squeeze #landing page #page #squeeze page #subdomain

One clear benefit: you save on the Domain cost!

You can build good content on your main domain and climb up the google ranking.
Then on-site link to your squeeze page.

I don't see any pitfall using your squeeze page in the sub-domain.

This! you save around $10/year ( assuming that you use .com extension )

for the pitfall, I think it seems not too professional, since the address will be something.something.com.. unless it's in the same niche..

The only pitfall is branding issue.
Your squeeze page product might be very different from your main domain name.

yes, it all comes down to branding. If your main site is a hub, leading to your product sub-domains no problem it all makes sense. But if your main domain has little to do with your sub-domain then it does not make much sense. And after all, you are really only talking about a few bucks for a new domain name. Most hosting providers allow multiple domains in one account for no additional cost. On the cheap side you can get hosting at companies like HostGator for very little per month and they have no domain limits in their plans. Technically all of those additional domain names on a HostGator account will be sub-domains of the main account domain, but they are redirected to the new domain name so no one visiting the site would know anyway.

It's all about the brand that you are promoting.

If it's your own product it needs its own domain, if it's a squeeze page, and then you promote third party products, then subdomain would be fine.
