Easy SEO and Business advice

Instead of building spammy links, write good content for an audience that already exists, and promote the hell out of your content through guest posts and connecting with influencers in your niche.

This is a lot harder, but more valuable in the long run.

Also solve a legitimate need and do not make your posts about YOU! Make them about the people you are helping.

Ex: Do people buy Apple products because Steve Jobs was a great guy? No, they don't care about Jobs. They care that the ipod is shiny, sexy, and does cool things.

Also remember that whatever business you are in, you are in the marketing business. Once you learn that you will see things differently and are more likely to have success.

Just some thoughts.

That's true. Or, as they say, GIGO, garbage in garbage out.

Great post. This advice will always be "Google update proof". Google is so incredibly smart. When you are working on SEO you should ask yourself, "Am I trying to trick Google or take advantage of a loophole or am I providing real value to the end user?"

Real value will always survive algorithm updates. Tricks and loopholes will always get closed or they will become so widespread that they will become a Fiverr.

Another quick piece advice that goes with your "solve a legitimate need" is to sit down and think about what niche you would really work with if money did not matter. Chances are it is not mortgage refinance, diet pills or time-shares. Try to set aside an hour or so a week to hit your favorite niche. What you will discover is that you are very good at it and you will start to see amazing and sustainable results. Who knows, maybe money will even start to roll in.

I have to agree. Bottom line is quality content, always has been. There are lots of tricks to get someone to come to your site once. What you want is someone to come back to your site, repeat visits = sales

I agree with your point on providing good content that actually helps and give values to the reader. Consistency in producing good content and marketing the content is indeed the long term approach to marketing the internet business.

One point that I will add is that I will also build my own by list of subscribers and communicate consistently over a period of time to build trust and relationship. I will also be able to repurpose the content that I have created by sharing with my subscribers.

    It's all about helping people...

Low quality information is useless to people on the net - Google is right about that.

Help people and you will become successful.
