Hey guys,

What would you guys like to hear about (in regards to blogging for a profit or affiliate marketing)?

[Disclaimer: I'm totally sourcing an article right now, just wanted to come up with an awesome topic to cover, but its totally going to be released to the public for free]

My site is now bringing in four digits/month when it comes to unique views, and its on track to bring in 5 digits this year, from affiliate marketing. So I think I'm at a point where I can put myself out there as a minor authority on the blogging for a profit/affiliate marketing world.

I feel like there's tons of little specific topics that people are looking for, but haven't been able to find, so let me know what you would like to hear about.

Thanks!

Brandon Bear

How to customize a Wordpress theme. I'm pretty good with standard HTML, but Wordpress seems complex... unlike Blogger where it's pretty much a drap and drop opeation.

How to use your list correctly for affiliate products.

There are tons of people that do this wrong. People will make a hug list and wonder why their not making money.

That's a blog I would put in my membership.

Show case studies of you making 4 or 5 figures a month in a non MMO niche. If you can teach that, you receive my undivided attention and potentially me pulling out my credit card. If you're earning all of your money from your MMO blog, sorry, but I'm not interested.

Will throw this one in the queue.

I'm not the best at editing themes. But I've learned a ton from trial and error.

For a TL;DR, focus on the CSS for front-end (like appearance stuff), which is actually SUPER easy to learn, once you get the hang of it.

If you want to learn without a guide, just use the "inspect element" right click button on google chrome, and fool around with the CSS in real time without any risk of problems.

      Boom!

      Thanks for your input.

That is actually one of the posts I'm working on right now for next week or so.

I've got some solid info, (which would really help 99% of the people on WF who don't understand how to run a mailing list).

This is the other thing I'm working on.

I'm trying to stay away from the traditional MMO niche.

I don't want any guru or typical WSO (sorry) stuff on my site.

I'm going to show how I'm making money from related sites, like affiliate marketing in other niches.

I've been burned a few times from scams... lost $1,500+ from your typical internet marketing scam. So I feel you.

And honestly, I'm the same way, I don't read MMO blogs anymore that only make money from literally selling 'how to make money online.'

Thanks for the input so far everyone!

This. Making money online in a completely different niche is the key to real results. Any one can make money in the MMO niche but not anyone can make money in the weight loss, finance, wedding niche, etc.

Hmm. I agree, but doesn't that sound like a WSO?

I mean, the "step-by-step follow system" part seems like something you would try and sell.

I'm talking about personal ideas/giving out my personal methods, what would testimonials have to do with that?

Or did you mean something else?

Totally agree, this is absolutely one of the main directions I'm going to take my site.

I've done a couple SEO case-studies but those (if done correctly) take tons of time. Definitely going to focus on valuable stuff like that.

How to sell....without selling.. if that make sense.

Think..organic content that people just eat up...

not just... Hey.. buy this and you will be rich...

maybe something like "Blog about the benefits of 'x' product without actually saying.. "I'm reviewing this, or you need this"

I mean, think about TV commercials.. Do they actually say.. "You need a Dodge Ram Truck."? No, they say.. Guts, Glory, Ram...

Apple never says "You need an iPad." They show you the ipad and say things like "On your Ipad."

If you can get your customer to connect emotionally to what you are talking about.....thats money in the bank..

    Thanks!

      Fantastic stuff man!

This is the exact strategy I'm taking right now.

It's 100% soft-selling, no direct selling, no guru talk, no hard-selling.

I know I'm personally tired of all the hard-selling.. and it just seems pushy these days.

It's actually easier, in my opinion, to sell things when you are upfront about it and your readers get the balance of opportunity for both parties.

Like they know what you are getting out of the deal and you tell them what they are getting from the purchase (from things like affiliate sales).

What makes Apple the beast that it is, is that it shows you what it can do. Plus, it'll actually work and make your live more productive/enjoyable (Mac guy here, still trying to wrap my head around the fact that so many mainstream IMers are still using PCs...)

Yes people are looking for a step by step proven method that is easy to follow and nothing has been left out.
So many people claim to be good teachers but some I have met certainly don't fit into that category because they do not teach in a logical fashion.

Agreed, that's almost why I feel like being an intermediate rather than a professional/'guru' level marketer allows me to teach people that much more.

Or at least explain things on a different level.

    Two things:

    1) How you are drawing in that amount of uniques (is it targeted?)

    2) How you are converting that into cold, hard CASH!

    That is great!

But why don't you ask your visitors???

It might be interesting to see what people here want but you should really ask your visitors.

This might sound really stupid, but I was mainly looking for what WF people were looking for.

I already know what my personal users are into, so it was more of a way to gauge what this specific market was after so I could target myself a little better for this potential market. See what I mean?
