Email Spy tracking "It has it been opened" system (using Pixels) and recommends?

Can you recommend a service, for tracking opened emails, by inserting a pixel in the email,

then when sent, and opened by the receiver, I get an email that states it has been opened?

Like Spypig.

A recommended one that you have used.

I can't help with your question, but I've always wondered how accurate that method of measuring opens is anyway? Is it reliable?

    It is legal to use.

All of the primary autoresponders use tracking pixels, but it is only effective with people who receive HTML emails.

Anyone who has their email readers set to Text Only will not fire the pixel, so you won't have any information on them. As a result, any data you receive will be slightly skewed - showing your open rates as being less than it really is.

Another factor that can skew the numbers is with people who block images in their email reader. If I remember right, that is a default setting in my Thunderbird email reader.
