Hi all!
Just interested to know if any of you guys have any suggestions for ebook marketing and the best ways to go about doing it?

By this I mean any software that teaches how to write up and promote your ebook, or any other avenues that can be utilised?

Many thanks,

Nat x

Check this out: Number 1 Book System Presented by Digital Marketer
Also Kindle has a program called KDP and they promote your book for free if you exclusively publish with them.

Start creating content that your target audience would be interested in. Get involved with social media. Especially twitter and facebook so you can start building a following. Write articles, create videos and use PPC if you can afford to so you can start driving traffic to your site. I would suggest setting up a squeeze page to send the traffic to so you can start building a list first. Once they are on your list you can sell them your ebook along with other products.

Good comment above. A very important technique to master is to find out exactly what your niche needs - their most pressing problem. You can get a pulse on this by visiting forums and reading comments on fan pages and blogs. Once you've done this research simply provide the answer to their problems in your ebook. Drive traffic to your site (whole other topic in itself).

          Nattie,

I guess there are 3 different phases for your eBook marketing:

          1) Before you launch your book
          2) Your launch period
          3) Post launch period (longest)

          Pre-Launch:
          • Get some interest from your target group
          • Start making them sign up to your marketing list
          • Hype your book up
          • Perhaps offer some sneek insides of your book
          Launch:

          • Go full out and tell the world with the tools mentioned below
          Post Launch:
          • Find new target groups
          • Do some promotions
          • Help others in your target group
          Tools and Techniques
          • The famous friends and family circle -> Use them to drum up interest and to spread the word
          • Your picture (your eBook cover) will speak a thousand of words -> Get this right -> this is the first people see and will be their deciding factor to purchase or to move on
          • Social media -> Facebook, LinkedIn, Bloggers, pInterest (see Cover)
          • Video
          • Advertising -> Facebook is a good platform to find really targeted people for your eBook
          • Press Release -> Why not?! (Isn't your eBook worth it?)
          • Not everything has to happen online -> don't overlook offline (local newspapers / TV / radio)
          • Repeat all of the above several times and refine where required
          Hope this helps

Get yourself press. Contact bloggers about your niche, set up an interview, the same goes for vloggers in your niche and podcasters in your niche. After enough online press, go for traditional print, radio, and TV.

Some quick tips from me would be...

        1. Regular blog and social media posts.

        2. Joint venture with someone with a large opted in email list in a related, complimentary but non competing niche.

        3. Ensure your marketing materials are high quality...sales pages, squeeze pages, blog posts and emails to your list etc.

        Hope that helps.

Be a part of a community that's all about writing/self-publishing (this is my shameless plug for platform41).

One product I do recommend if you're looking at Kindle publishing is KD Publishing Pro. It makes the process of actual creation a lot faster.

Depends on what kind of marketing you're thinking of doing. You can get Facebook shares, likes, used to be able to get tags... but they took that away. SEO is a great way to get the book ranking better in amazon as well as google

I think you should upload your ebook to Amazon.com. You do not have to promote yourself as you have the biggest online company selling your book for you. You also get reviews that you can use and the commission isn't bad either.
Amazon is worth considering but you should find out more about the costs and the conditions.
    As far as I know:
No cost for submit to Amazon, 70% royalty for sales in US and UK, 35 % royalties for all other countries, 60 days for payout, and additional download fee.

Using Amazon's free promo days is a great way to let people know about your book and to get that inital buzz going.

Then it is time to start working on the next book and let Amazon's internal engines do the rest.

Promote yourself. Give away free content to build a list, then email this list 3-4 times within a 2 week time frame. Construct your emails to where you want to provide more valuable tips, but the real special ones are in your ebook. Hyper link to your capture page and watch the paper stack.
