Alternatives to Clickbank

Hey folks, I know there are a few threads on this topic but here is what I am looking for.

I sell two forex products, indicators and signals. I am looking for much more capabilities in commission payouts than the limited set that CB offers. Like for example paying bonuses if certain level of sales if achieved. Or the ability to run a contest.

I also know that there is software I could use, but not sure how affiliates feel about the vendor doing this by themselves. So I am open to suggestions. Am I stuck with clickbank?

Thanks!
Mike

    Hello Mike,

You can always pay bonuses to affiliates even while you're using ClickBank, it's just not automated, however nothing stops you from paying a bonus to an affiliate, nor running a contest. What else are you looking to do?

    I am a little confused...

I thought the commission % was set by the product owner and not clickbank.

Maybe you could talk directly with the product owner and talk with them about a bonus if a particular level is reached.

I would think that you should be moving a lot of product for an owner to do that though.

    Alternatives to clickbank?

I am sure there are some, I have found a few. None seemed to compare fore sheer robustness compared to Clickbank.

    Thanks!

    Jeremiah

I guess, I am looking for a one stop shop. I come from a compensation background and merchants like CB are really in the comp business, they just don't know it. So I am shocked at the lack of flexibility. I know I can run my own contests and pay bonuses outside, but would prefer to do it all in one place. Plus CB hides the affiliate information so I would have to do an exceptional job of finding the affiliates my self and connecting the dots with CB.

Said another way, I am trying to manage, motivate and pay my sales team (affiliates) with one comp package. Even the reporting out of CB is marginal. For example they don't tell you your gross sales amount, just the amounts you are getting paid. There is no summary level data like the ability to run sales by month. I also have a reporting background and I am shocked at the lack of summary data that I would think people would want to know about there business, like monthly trends. So that is why I am considering other options.

This is true: ClickBank affiliates have the right to anonymity. But you can "prominently incentivize" them in your marketplace listing and vendor spotlight page, encourage them to opt in, and so on (and bonuses/competitions are clearly a good way to do that). Still, it's clearly not quite the one-stop shop you're looking for.

As against that, it probably has the most affiliates, is longer-established even than Google, and the fact that affiliates there aren't dependent on vendors for their payment means you get the serious, pro-affiliates there. This is a point of which I suspect some vendors/merchants sometimes don't quite grasp the potential significance.

Sorry, I don't know of better options for you.

Alexa, thanks very much for your comments. That was a big concern. For they appear to be the 800 pound gorilla in the space. So any alternatives would have to be weighed against the points that you raise. It clearly sounds like I should determine the best way to work with/around them, but stick with them for sure.

That is what I suspected, so thanks for your comments.

tangental but as a buyer I only really have confidence in Clickbank/Paypal.

I see sites that use them as have a potential integrity

I would personally never touch a product sold through Clicksure for example

There are many alternatives to using Clickbank but... using Clickbank will attract you the most affiliates, the top affiliate earners, and the affiliates with the biggest lists.

While I am not 100% sure of the difficulty in setting up an incentive based or tiered payment structure in offering special bonuses using RAP (Rapid Action Profits) software, it may be an alternative solution, dunno?

If I'm not mistaken RapBank is an affiliate/vendor based platform whereby you may be able to promote special affiliate payments as well...worth a look I imagine.
