Blog posts to specific pages?

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble figuring out how to assign blog posts to specific pages.

Lets say I have a CPA Marketing page, and I have multiple CPA related posts, is there a way to assign those posts to the CPA Marketing page?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

Do you mean pages that you see in the main menu of a blog, or do you mean the individual categories?

If you have created the category "CPA Marketing", then assigning a CPA related blog post is a simple matter of choosing the "CPA Marketing" category from a drop down menu.

If you mean actual static pages, then I'm afraid you'd have to link to those blog posts individually and manually.

Yes I'm talking about the pages that are on the main menu. I assume it's the 'static page.' What good are pages if you can only write one article on them? Is there nothing else that can be done with a page?

It's confusing, so I can't tell which one that you meaned. Explain more details about your purpose.

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

You, obviously, don't understand the basics of the blogging tool you are using (judging by its behaviour, I'd guess it is WP).

Anyway, no, Pages are not for 'placing posts on them'. Read a bit of documentation > Pages « WordPress Codex

The "grouping" of posts by topics in WP is done (as it was stated above) by categories.

In a good theme, you should be able to create custom Menus (see wp-admin > Appearance > Menus subpanel) and you can have as a "menu item" anything, including categories! That's the way to go about it.

It is due to the lack of fantasy (and coding knowledge) of theme authors that 99% of the default menus are made up by Pages...

Yes, if you are using wordpress there is a plugin that I have used like that.

I think it's called something weird like 'display categories on pages', something like that. You put the posts into a category, and then the plugin displays the posts for that category on a particular page.

If I remember correctly you can either have it display a list of links to posts, or display excepts.

Long time since I used it, so please forgive the vague descriptions...

That's complete nonsense since version 3.0 (summer of 2010) when the custom Menus were introduced. No need for any plugin... Why don't you read the whole thread?

Why so harsh, Istvan? He was just trying to help, and was helpful. Thanks, Martin.

I thank you as well, Istvan. You fixed my issue.
