Seems like no one knows. Those that do know probably won't tell. Can you at please point us all who are trying to get off the ground in the right direction? Is there a course, a website, a ebook, a piece of software, an industry, what exactly should we be doing? That actually makes money online?

I have some theories but that's all they are. Come on someone spill the beans please???

All IMs here are ready to help you for sure. There are various methods of earning money online. Since you are a beginner you can try some GPT programs that allow you to earn extra cash filling out surveys and completing simple tasks. GPT means 'get paid to'.

Are you an affiliate marketer or network marketer? or looking to become either one?

Marketing affiliate products is great if you have the right products...and if you can get the right affiliate commissions

There are quite a few ways you can go about it, but if you are looking for the most straightforward method with lowest entry cost your best bet is to build a website in a profitable niche.

      1. Pick a niche that you think people spend a lot of money in. Could be video games, abs, acne, tax help, etc. Research competition, keyword traffic, and ways you could monetize the traffic. You don't have to know anything about the niche, you can learn! It helps if you do something you like though.

2.Get a domain and build a website focused on your niche. Create valuable content that answers questions people are looking for. You can either create this yourself or outsource it and pay people to write it for you. Make articles, videos, etc.

      3. Get your site ranked for the keywords you chose. Optimize your pages for search engines (SEO) and build backlinks. Promote it on social media or paid advertising. This will get traffic to your site.

      4. Profit from your visitors. You can have adsense ads that make money when people click on them. You can promote affiliate products relating to your niche. You can sell ebooks, webinars, coaching, etc. Identify what people in this niche want and give it to them... for a price.

      5. Optimally you would have an opt in form on your website to get people to sign up for a newsletter. Once you have people on your list you can easily market to them and get repeat buyers.

This is just one way to do things, and there is lots of variations on it. I go into a lot more depth in my fundamentals course, but this information is pretty widely available around these forums.

Hope this gets you going in the right direction!

If you're serious about making money in IM, you first need to choose 1) a business model, 2) a niche and 3) a target market. This is a basic step that a lot of Warriors overlook.

Without a business model, niche and target market, you're NOT going to get the value out of any IM info that you COULD get out of it.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

        1. Products
        2. Services

        That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

        Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

        1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

        2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

        3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

(Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.)

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

        Pick just ONE!

        1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

        2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

        3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

        F -- Follow
        O -- One
        C -- Course
        U -- Until
        S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

        Hope this helps!

        Michelle

      For OP.
Everything mentioned in the replies will and does work but won't for you

As a beginner you need to educate yourself into various processes involved and things like proper niche/keywords research and how to do basic if not complex SEO. Without mastering these you won't make any success with any site or whatever method you try unless you are willing to work with paid traffic from the very beginning which is a very poor start to begin tbh.

I always suggest to first learn and master the basics of how most things relating Internet Marketing work, and how to make money using free and cheaper methods. Before going after paid and automated.

Success or money don't come by asking/looking for a simple/best method. It does with hard work and studies and educating yourself. Can a mechanic repair your car without knowing how the car works?
If you had spent even a hour on this forum learning anything available everywhere and elsewhere on the internet. You won't be asking this question here and wasting others time.

If you had asked what strategy/method works better for beginners then that would be a whole different thing but asking how to make money after being a member for more than a year on a forum with so much free information is a total nonsense to me...

I really don't understand posts like this. The OP has been a member here for over a year and yet still doesn't seem to understand that all the answers are here.

Making money online is not difficult and does not necessarily involve hard work. It is just the application of knowledge that is both freely available in the forum or very cheaply available from some excellent WSOs.

And before you say all WSOs are crap, they are not. Sure, some are better than others, but most have a message for those willing to listen.

There aren't any beans to spill - the sooner you understand that the better. It isn't as if there is some huge conspiracy that is keeping it all a secret. Everything you need to know is out in plain sight. You don't even need the War Room - although there is a ton of good stuff there.

Can anyone point you at 'the answer'? Not really because nobody knows what you already know or which type of Internet marketing might suit you best. You have to work that out for yourself.

In fact, most people who succeed do so because of one major personality attribute: they are willing to try to work things out for themselves. Wea ll need a bit of help sometimes, but your own experience tends to be the best teacher - not someone else's.

So instead of asking unanswerable non-questions that suggest you want everything handed to you on a plate, go and do some research, find an area of Internet marketing that you think will suit you and do it. Then, if you hit a stumbling block, come back and ask something specific.

Errr - wouldn't you have to put some effort into deciding WHAT you wanted to do before expecting someone to "show" you "what to actually do"?

Stop the first 200 people you pass on the street and ask them how they make a living offline. I think you'll probably get 200 different answers. There's more than one way of earning a living you know.

All jobs "make money". You need to identify your skills.

Don't train to be a cardiac surgeon if you can't stand the sight of blood. Don't train to be a painter and decorator if you don't like decorating. Don't train to be a firefighter if you are afraid of ladders. Don't train to be a farm worker if you hate animals.

You don't need someone to "spill the beans". You need an attitude change. What skills do you have? If you aren't prepared to "work hard", forget it.

How you can make money online, as ever, depends on your skills.

You have to be both willing and able to acquire skills, to earn a living.

One observation I can offer you (and I don't mean it nearly as facetiously as it sounds, either!): if you read carefully through all the multiple threads you've recently started in this forum, trying to take in the excellent advice offered in many of them, rather than apparently taking no notice of them and continuing indefinitely to start off more new threads asking basically the same questions, you'll benefit from that - you've been offered plenty of good advice, but I can't help wondering whether you're actually taking any/much of it on board.

      I agree with Alexa on this one;

Go back and read all the posts that you have started here. In many of them YOU have asked the same questions, but only in different ways. It has been explained to you in many ways, in those posts.

Have you done anything that has been suggesrted to you?

Well ideally what I'd like to do is make about 5-10k per month. Possibly selling some kind of training course or ebook or something that can be automated. Something that you can create into an affiliate program. Maybe that's limiting myself though as it probably doesn't have a lot of big potential.

The other option I was thinking of was building some kind of online community. But ya I guess it boils down to not talking so much about it, and instead just going out and trying things. I have about 4 good ideas right now. Each one has several flaws about it though that kinda hold me back from wanting to bother.

The one idea that seems somewhat reasonable was generating sales leads and pay per call leads for professionals. I had some success with it when I tried it once in the past. The problem though is dealing with these stupid professionals. They become your clients and they're constantly needing servicing. So it just sucks in that respect. But there is big money to be made potentially there. But it's again one of those situations where it has limited potential as there's no room for that exponential growth of say a social network.

The social network idea I had was to do something similiar to Fiverr. I have unique angle on it. I think that has promise. It has the social networking but the problem is there's so many of them already that I wonder if it's even worth bothering with.

What if you didn't have to create a training or affiiliate program?

What if there is already a training program that has an affiliate program built into it with lead generation tools...all in one?

You can learn to generate leads..while using your lead generation tools (lead capture pages giving free webinars to marketers who need them), and being able to market and make money from the affiliate products and make a bit of change from the leads who convert into team members in your lead generation system?

 Hmmmm....I would say being a product creator - if done correctly - has exponential potential and is certainly not limiting.

I'm sorry, but what I'm hearing from you is that you can't be bothered? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Your lead generation idea has legs - especially seeing as you experienced some success previously, however if you have no desire to service the clients you are providing a service to, perhaps leave that one alone.

You have been given some really solid advice on this thread, and I do hope that you take some of it on board. Especially the advice to FOCUS.

There are plenty of us that know how to make a very decent living online, and many have willingly shared their methods freely with you.

    Here are a few ways:

    eBay - very easy.
    Fiver - very easy.
Freelance writing - good if you have the skills
Online marketing - not a quick process, you need time and effort. You need to build and list, gain trust with that list and then, only then maybe 10% or so may buy products you promote to them from time to time.

It is very much a numbers game.

Well there are 101 ways to make money online so it's hard for someone to tell you EXACTLY what to do if we don't know what your interested in, what you're good at, what experience and knowledge you have and so on.

A lot of people make money by creating their own products (info products, ebooks, software etc), many by promoting other peoples products (affiliate marketing), some by providing services to local businesses, people get paid to write articles or content for websites / books. The list is endless really.

Tell us about your theories and maybe we can tell you if they are possible. They probably are because anything is possible if you put some effort into it. Remember no ones going to do this for you. If you want to make money online then YOU need to put the effort in and do the work and YES you do need to 'work hard'.

There are many ways to make money online, it depend on what path you want to take:
    1. fast but sure, expect small income, such as filling surveys, work in online desk
    2. slow but sure, expect average income, such as working in Clickbank or affiliate marketing
    3. really slow and need patient, expect big reward, you should contact guru for this kind of method.

I would choose the list building model:

      1. Choose a niche where there is a desperate need and information will provide a solution. Preferably not a niche where the information can be found for free on the internet and also try to choose a niche that has some longevity to it. That way you can promote more than one offer to your list and make more than one sale to each buyer.

      2. Choose your list building method. This could be giving something to your visitors for free to get the optin, or maybe design your own product (my choice) and when they purchase your product have the customer optin on the backend after purchasing. That way you build a list of buyers, not freebie seekers.

Well since everyone is providing deep and insightful commentary on how to make money online, I might as well explain how I make money online and let you decide if it works for you.

    1) Build up a core community that will follow you to the ends of the Earth. I did this by building up a loyal fanbase via YouTube and Twitch.tv - these people would bail me out of prison, they're that dedicated to this.

    2) Build up other businesses around this core community, and use them to promote the other businesses. Blog networks, gaming communities, a convention - you name it, they'll get into it and promote it.

    3) Determine which businesses make you money, which ones are losing you money, and make additions or cuts.

    4) Monetize in various ways in your businesses. Ads, paid content, "freemium", etc... It depends on what you're launching.

    5) Make sure you're collecting e-mail addresses along the way.

Here is how you make money online:

1.Drive (targeted) traffic to "your" squeeze page (not directly to an offer)

2.Convert that traffic to buyers (by being honest and not scamming people)

3.Make people succeed and you will succeed

Learn to be a Guru and money will come to you. We 'sell' our service or product to get money. If you want something (money) without giving something, then you are a beggar..

If, however, you already have a blog with a devoted following it should be easy for you to leverage your readers into hard cash. Ad networks such as Google AdSense pay big money to place their ads on your site, and you’ll receive a payment every time a reader clicks one. While it’s easy to go overboard and fill every spare pixel, if you place your ads well it’s possible to make a comfortable income from your site.

You sound angry, and attacking others on the forum as if no one is helping here and no one wants to share things is absolutely wrong !

I have received nothing but help here for a long time, but the way you came out is some what STRONG... and a little offensive and demanding as if people have to tell you and hold your hand to get you from A to Z !

If that is what you want to get to from A to Z, then here is my advice to you regardless of your attitude you expressed on this post

I have paid for coaches in various ways, years ago on a Seo Coach because I was having a hard time with it because seo courses are not interactive and do not answer those questions that come up as you are reading, a coach can answer those questions do you understand.

I am now very strong in Seo because of this coach he help get going and I did the rest, I can consult in it if I want too which I don't. I use It for my own offline business to generate leads. .

They are great and worth gold, because they have already made the costly mistakes for you, and have invested maybe years of trial / error and lots of money in courses, coaches etcc to get there so you are actually saving time and money by using a paid successful making money online coach if you can afford it...

    1) Hire a paid coach if you have the cash and he/she will show you ....step by step from A TO Z how to focus on one online money making business model and get it done from the beginning to completion at a cost ;>)

    2) As someone mentioned here on one of the post - just start at something you select to focus on and learn that way by making your mistakes and coming here and asking..for help with what you are doing ...

Good luck to you, but be a little more humble in how you approach people here because you could turn off the very person that may offer you some more real help but you pushed him/her away with your attitude...;>) advice from a baby boomer....( a little older guy from the Vietnam era war )

I think you should join odesk.com. This is the place from where you can earn your first dollar. No need to learn anything. You can do data entry and article writing work and for this kind of work you don,t need any training.

You can make money online in hundreds of different ways: Blogging, offering services, selling photos, promoting other's products, selling your own products, Adsense, Amazon, Clickbank ...

What I learned in my online journey up to now is that in order to make serious money, you need to first know what you enjoy doing and then stick to something, get better at it and keep working on it and never stop.

    Hey aceshigh888,
I understand your frustration. Please check this post here about how to make $100 a day and see if it helps. That was the response I gave to someone else.

I too understand your frustration. But I have to agree with Nightengale. You really need to focus in on what you are trying to accomplish. Just saying you don't know how to make money online is where most of us were at one time. But please remember, it takes HARD WORK, and commitment, and many hours of trial and error to make it in this business. Learn all you can and most of all, implement what you learn. Rome was not built in a day.....
