I've been taking a minor business related course at my local university and found a lot of those concepts to be useful when it comes to online marketing. They of course have to be adjusted a bit for better results but the general idea is there.

Has anyone else taken such a course, if so, would you recommend it and what was it called?

    Breeze,

Is this an online marketing certification type course?

No, actually it's mainly related to offline business but essentially a lot of the concepts can be applied to an online business since at the end of the day, business is business.

What kind of Ideas have you gotten and how did they translate to IM?

I took Intro to Marketing in college, and the contents of that course were pretty much useless to the rest of my life. What I rely on now comes from my own, self-directed studies. I'm glad to hear that at least in your case, you're getting some usable material from the class.

This is something I have also been very interested in. I am working more now to do marketing consulting for others, and have thought about taking a few marketing classes to make myself look more "legit".

Though I haven't heard the best things about how these courses would translate into the IM world. I've learned A LOT over the past 4 years and would really like to focus on continuing to build on that.
