How much do you think I can get for this domain?

Well, I got lucky awhile back when creating my first site, Im just wondering, how much would people actually pay for this domain name? It seems to be pretty good in the IM area. Make Money from Home | SelfMadeRiches.com. Im not advertising my affiliate links that are on it. I just want to know so i can get rid of it.

So how much do you want for the site?

It has no Google Rank, Alexa is 19,000,000 plus. Not that matter to some. It will be worth something to someone that needs that exact domain.

Based on the scant information provided, the fact that it has a weak link profile, "self made riches" gets almost no EM searches etc and a guess that the site is generating zero income.

I don't see how you could think it's worth anything???

Value is subjective. If someone had a use for the domain name... that may be worth more than the site. If your really trying to sell it make the next post a "This Site is For Sale" contact me at:123-456-7890.

You will find out how much someone would pay you for it.

In my opinion, nothing. You cant sell it, it doesnt contain any big keyword. Also, it isnt a PR 4 with thousands of backlinks and a 10year + domain age.

    So, worthless in my eyes.

    Hey KamilZoram,
Imho Domain by itself wouldn't be worth much right now. What may work though is selling the idea of potential... If you invested a bit of time using a premium theme and some great content you could easily sell the idea on and hopefully people would capture the vision. Right now i'd say it could go from anywhere from $10 - $100 (really depends on what someone is willing to pay for it)

Wish you all the best! Hope you get a great offer.

  • Hi I am not sure of the exact value of your domain name as I am brand new to this industry as well. I just recently spent a ton of money buying domain names to resell. I currently own these domains and was wondering if you could give me an idea of what they are worth. I currently have the domains listed on buydomains.com and a few other sites for $250 each because its the lowest I can list them for and I need some sales.

    These are the names:
    AdultRates.com
    Cassieco.com
    ActMatch.com
    AdviceBaby.com
    APlusGrades.com
    JobsCounty.com
    CanadianBilling.com
    CarrierFood.com
    CampOvers.com
    CaringU.com

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. As it gets no real traffic and probably no revenue, it wouldn't be worth a lot to a lot of people. However, it has a certain branding appeal and if someone was thinking of a name like that for branding purposes, you might get a bit for it. Not thousands. Maybe a hundred or two, IMO.

Welcome to the domain addicts club. You need to do research on domains before you buy them rather than afterwards. I don't see any value in those domains. It will probably be tough to get rid of them for any price.

Call me paranoid but I always think the "How much do you think I can get for this domain?" posts are a means by which many try and sell their domain/website for free. That being said, the domain is worth registration fee and the content what others are willing to pay for it.

It's worth what buyers decide it's worth. Flippa probably best market for selling a site like this - and I sold a site recently on there on a four letter .com, the model name of a world famous sports car - number one on google to the term, few years age, $255....
I didn't expect much more than that in fact I know it could have gone for less.

Reason: Revenue. If a site has no revenue, then it has no solid value, all it has is 'potential' which is very difficult to value. For a site to sell based on potential alone, it needs to be special. So if you had money.com or riches.com or porn.com then obviously that's different.

If you had an exact match domain for a search term with fairly low competition and decent traffic, that is potential that's easier to sell - but I that is the case then you'd be better of harnessing that potential yourself to get some revenue coming in - and then sell a site with revenue, which is much easier to sell.

The only reason I sell some sites on flippa is because I (and I know I'm not alone...) start far more projects than I finish, and I never start something which has no potential, and many of them have some age and exact match domain to a half decent search term - so i know I have value sitting there that someone else could leverage into some cash, and I'm happy to sell them for a relatively small amount - because I know what I'm like, if I don't finish a project while my heart is still in it, I'll just never get back into that project - so I may as well get a few quid for them and put the money I to projects I have followed through on - and I never expect to get big money for them.

    Cheers

It seems like a pretty good brandable domain, so I don't see why people are ripping on the site's Alexa rank. The value is in the domain and I'm sure you could get 4 figures from some serious IMer who needs a good domain for their next CB launch.

You can try contacting the owner of .net version (if that isn't you).

SelfMadeMillionaires.com sold a couple years ago for $7,500. That's the closest comparable domain I've found to yours.

However, that domain had what appeared to be a large content-filled site on it and I would guess it probably had a great deal of traffic and sales.

Your site has just eight posts. One of those posts is just a recommendation for a forum which itself does not appear to have much activity. That leaves you with just seven content posts. Given that the content is in the IM niche and IMers are notoriously cheap, probably the most they'd value that at would be $10 an article. But that would be at the high end in the IM world. Most don't like to pay more than $5 for an article. So, on the basis of content alone, you have a value of $35 in content.

You haven't mentioned traffic or income from the site, so we cannot estimate a value from there.

As mentioned, the closest comparable sale of a domain similar to yours was selfmademillionaires.com at $7500. But that appears to have had more content than yours as well as more traffic and sales. So, I doubt you would get anywhere near that.

On the plus side, there aren't a lot of selfmadeXXXX.com domains available and selfmaderiches.com is a good name and certainly brandable. If you can find the right buyer, maybe you could get a couple hundred for it or more. Maybe.

There's a similar domain to yours that is selfmademoney.com. It looks like it has been for sale for several years, but no indication of an asking price. You might want to investigate that and see what they are asking because, if it hasn't sold after all this time, they are probably asking too much. Knowing what they are asking might give you a better idea of what you might be able to sell yours for.

How do you even know what he paid for it?
If he paid a standard domain reg fee, then I strongly disagree with you... Just putting a WP site on there and a few pages of content, getting it indexed on Google and a little bit of age, would lead the majority of people looking to buy a website, at more than the domain reg fee. It's hard to put a value on potential, or brandability, but this domain does lend itself to being used for a product name.

It's actually a very brandable domain name and no one can say (accurately) it's worth less than registration fee. If well developed, it could be worth considerably more than it is right now, but you never know who would be interested in using this domain as a brand. I've seen much worse domains that people were requesting an evaluation on here.

Let's see here. I have 4 singles, and roughly .80 cents in change, will that do?

Just kidding, I did the same thing when I got into IM and thought every domain name I bought was a potential goldmine. Heck, I bought over 200+ domains. Some were EMD's with searches in the high 6 figures, others just seemed brand-able... while others left me asking myself; "why the hell did I buy that?"

In the long run, yours has a brand-ability, but only in the eyes of a potential buyer. Also, when you start sniffing around for valuations...

Beware of scammers offering way too much money for your domain(s). In many cases, they'll contact you by email or phone & tell you they want to purchase your domain, and are prepared to pay like $7,000 or some astronomical number.

Then they hit you with; "I am so and so, I work closely with investors who spend millions on domains...blah! blah! blah!" - Only to suggest that before they can purchase you need to conduct a paid professional appraisal (valuation) through their "fake" company... and that fake company will stick you for $40 $80 $250, whatever they can get out of you! - *Btw, they never wanted to buy your domain...they just want to take your money!

Almost happened to me. If I remember correctly, it was Suzanne (above) and a few other Warriors who saved my butt from that scam.

PS- after seeing the site, I'd be more inclined to create a product called "Self Made Riches" and put a mini-site... sales page with an ebook offer on it, and try to start generating some riches from it. *Maybe throw in a few bonuses, a OTO, and an upsell. -Then offer affiliates 75% commissions to promote the product. -IMHO you'd make more that way.

This debate is silly. There is one right answer to the question.

Right now, it is worth exactly what the highest bidder would be willing to pay. That might be $10, it might be $100, or if it is a really lucky day, it could be $1k

The value will rise with development, traffic, and - most importantly - revenue. If the OP can do that, then the domain will become a brand, and brands are much more lucrative.
