OK time to admit defeat for now

SIGH
I am in the process of trying to build my list using PPC
However so far it is not working
I started this 2 weeks ago and so far have a grand total of 7 optins

The first campaign was based on banner ads in emails got a 1% ctr and 30% optin
but limited and expensive traffic
Then tried adclickmedia so far about 15% optin

Now tried adhitz sent 22 visitors today and NO optins

I am going to tweak the squeeze and try and see whats up
and see what my next move will be

Espresso - give us some detail please. What's your niche? Lets see if we can help you out. PPC isn't easy and get expensive, quick, you might be better off running something else depending on what you area of interest is, at least until you get some more experience.

    It is the IM
Niche I had some experience with ppc advertising before but am wanting to try and test different ppc traffic sources
My traffic has been low so far and just over 50% is from the USA

22 visitors and no optins? That's considered a conclusive test for you? You really shouldn't be drawing any conclusions until you have run at least a thousand visitors to a page.

Do not give up yet. Base your decision in 12 months. Just keep disciplinian yourself. You will get there.

    That's not statistically relevant yet.

Since you know about PPC already, I expect that you're split testing your ads as you go, so that they improve? And your squeeze pages as you say.

It might not be the traffic source, but might be your ad that would be the deciding factor? I'd expect each advertising channel will also need different ad copy to appeal to the traffic from each too, since they're probably from different demographics?

the ads are still running in both centers and based on my current cpc rate I should be getting about 500 between the two of them

And yes I would expect at least 1 person out of 22 who bothered to click my ad to optin
even if they unsubscribed right away

This isnt my first time doing squeeze pages and list buiding
I did it ages ago on a similar product via solo ads got 35% optin BUT wasnt following anti spam laws or best practices
I just collected the emails in my account and had an auto reply to the download link

Yes... but 22 visitors is statistically insignificant. You may get one
opt in for every 22 clicks but likely not 1 for EVERY 22. You may get
100 in a row not opt in then get 5 in a row who do.

It's way too early in the game to become discouraged or to form any
conclusions whatsoever. As WillR said, run at least 1,000 people to the
page before you even consider making a judgement.

Try clixsense. I used them and got a good rate. Some good clients. The title is crucial. For $31 I got 3 front end sales totaling $21 and a back end for $27. Not to mention 38 opt-ins. Good traffic IMO. That was my trial. I will be including them in my next list building campaign for sure

I hear you. I haven't had any luck with PPC, although I also haven't really given it my full attention when I've tried it. But if I were you, I would take the two Warriors who said they would provide feedback assistance (near the top of the thread) up on their offer.

One of the things I like best about this forum: generosity from people who have been there and done that.

You haven't given enough details for the community to help you. Every situation is different. The more details you give, the closer you will get to getting advice that will truly make a difference.

I would focus more on testing your squeeze page if I were you. 22 visitors is not enough to draw conclusions at this point in time.

    thanks for all your posts
Today has been better as I actually got sign ups
at a sign up rate just below 10%
Over all my sign up rate is 6% which is too low
I want to get it to 30%

alot of work to do but I feel a bit better and optimistic than I did yesterday

Just don't give up. There's a lot of solution out there. Just take an immediate function to increase the opt in rates of your squeeze page.

When things don't go as we hoped they would, it's normal to feel frustrated. But it's a good thing that you're not giving up. What changes did you do to your previous strategy?

hey espresso, maybe you would like to get some traffic from other sources? i don't know your niche but maybe its suitable for social media traffic? if you can create another page and get social traffic you can test both. it will take more time and work but maybe you will get better leads?

The good news is I am getting some conversions
bad news is cr is only just about 5%

I seem a long way off from by goal of 30%

I'll admit I havent had a chance to try and edit my page yet will do that tomorrow and see if I can bring it up to 10% CR
In terms of budget I am about 1/4 of the way through my funds

If present CPC and CR continue I would have spent about 71c per sub
