Are there buyers of Amazon Affiliate Sites?

Hi fellow warriors,

Are there buyers of Amazon affiliate sites? Though I'm not yet decided, I'm open about it. The site earns $300/month averaging 2.5K UV/m. How high can this site be sold? And is flippa the good choice where to negotiate its sell?

Any idea?

Amazon pays dirt. I only used Amazon as a backup after backup revenue stream as an last offer to make a buck on a potential lead.

Everything that Amazon sell, there's always some other products in ClickBank or other affiliate network in all different niches that you could upsell them at first before they settle for Amazon.

If it makes money, you can sell it for money.

Flippa would work, although I have never used it so I can't give you much advice.

Has it been earning consistently for several months? How much are you looking to sell it for?

At $300/month, the starting point for negotiations would probably be x12 monthly earnings, so $3600 for a serious buyer. Then, if I was interested in buying it, I would want to learn about its entire traffic history via Google Analytics screenshots, or similar evidence. If the site was consistently growing in traffic over several months, the offer would remain at $3600-ish or go higher. If all the traffic suddenly appeared at once, then it would be much riskier (since traffic that appears fast is likelier to fall fast), and the offering price goes down a lot.

Also important would be maintenance time or cost required. Is it a 100% static website? Or does it rely on programming that might need to be updated the next time a Java (or whatever) update is released. All of this type of thing can get costly, which is why a lot of people prefer buying static or simple Wordpress websites.

There are a lot of factors involved in buying and selling websites, so basically if you want to sell it, you should gather as much information about it as possible and post it on Flippa or wherever you decide to sell it. The more clear your information is, the more likely you will get serious bidders (as long as the site isn't a scam or super risky due to fluctuating traffic levels).

Thanks, curtis2011 for your reply. I'll see what would be my decision by month's end - but that's good money $3.6K at the most. This thing of selling websites looks lucrative.

You are making $300/ month with only 2500 UV/month with Amazon? That is fantastic. You are obviously doing something right, and that alone is something to be proud of.

As far as selling the site, I am very familiar with the Flippa marketplace (and YES that is a great place to sell a site like this). Without having seen the site and knowing the history of the site, I would say that you SHOULD be able to get 20-24x earnings on it, IF the right pieces are in place.

          What are the pieces?

          1. If it is pure, organic traffic (ie Google Rankings) instead of paid traffic, this will give the site a premium

          2. The product you are selling/ content of the review site. Yes, this DOES make a huge difference. Why? People don't want to invest large sums of money in a site that is pitching a product with a very limited lifespan!

If the site is build around some hot fad or hot trend, this could be a big negative for long term potential of the site. Also, 'Seasonal' sites ( ie selling Christmas Trees or Halloween costumes ) will bring far less money as people know you can only count on good money rolling in one or 2 months out of the year.

I saw a site not too long ago listed on Flippa that sold some sort of Christmas ornaments. Jan 1 rolls around, and she wants to sell the site. 3 month average earnings were off the charts. People commented on the fact that "now that Christmas is over, how will the site make money?" Her Response??

"November and December are typically our slowest months. During those months is when we have the most competition from big suppliers."

Yeah, right... You expect me to believe that? I don't know too many people shopping for Christmas ornaments in May. I don't think the site even met reserve.

          3. Absolute, undeniable proof of earnings and as much proof as possible! Video proof can be an added bonus. Anything that drives home the fact that your site IS making the money you claim it is.

Another thing that lots of sellers DO NOT do (which can help raise the selling price of your site) is if they are making their money through Paypal, or even Clickbank or some other affiliate platform, they are showing a screenshot, but as someone browsing the listing, we have no way to verify if that screenshot is in any way even connected to the site that is up for sale!

The more 'proof' you can deliver, the better your multiple will be.

          4. Domain - YES this can be a factor in the final sales price

          5. Age of site and how long it has been making money?

Basically if it is a newer site, with shoddy earnings (or very limited) history and questionable proof of income, you will be very likely under these circumstances to find at least one sucker who will take a stab at the site for 10x (or near 10x) earnings.

If it is an established site, with great earnings history, good KW rich domain, good content and product (evergreen) that it is pitching, it survived Panda and Penguin unscathed, you have tons of rock solid proof of earnings, and you are ranking in Google for some good KW's, there is no reason you wont be able to get at LEAST 24x multiple

Why not if you can show proof that the site is doing well. $300 per month for amazon affiliate site is pretty decent considering the extremely low commission amazon is paying out.

I will be interested to buy from you if you can PM me the proof. ex: googles analytics report, amazon commission, etc.. You got to convince us to buy it.

I would suggest trying to sell your site on Flippa. You should be able to find plenty of interested potential buyers on that site.
