Craigslist - What am I doing wrong?

Hello!

My ads on Craigslist get regularly deleted.

Can someone tell me the following:

I have 5x accounts and planning to post 3x times a day from each account. I don't want to spend too much time "reposting" every day. I have 3x variations of the ad.

What is the best way to start a new campaign:

A) On first day of campaign post the 3 variations of the ad to 1 account, then on second day post the same 3 variations of the ad to another account and so on.... then "repost" every 48 hours

OR

B) On first day of campaign post the ads to all 5 accounts 3x times a day. 48 hours later renew all ads in one go.
The problem with this method, is I don't know if I can send the same ad to 5x different accounts at the same time?

Any help would be much appreciated, particularly if you know of a more efficient method

NB: I am using VPAs AND VPN4all and clear the cach between each postings

    Hi Beatrice,

Are you using a phone verified account? It can be the reason why your ads get deleted and are you posting on the same location using the exact same ads? Try adding some tweaks and see if the same ads get deleted.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am using phone verified accounts. What I need help with is a system to post the ads. Can you post the same ad at the same time in 5 different accounts?

      Thanks

This is what I was going to say. You need to make sure that you have a verified phone account in order to post on Craigslist without the risk of your posts getting ghosted.

You can't post the same exact ads. That is why they are getting deleted.

You do realize that in some US Circuit Courts you are committing a felony. Although the Ninth Circuit ruled that violating the terms of service didn't violate federal computer hacking statutes.

The Supreme Court hasn't taken up the issue yet.

Also do not put a link in your ads for a while until Craigslist starts to like you. Just have the customer to inbox you if they are interested. Hope this helps.
    Hello!

Thanks for your reply. I already use CC cleaner between postings. What you said makes sense, how long do you suggest that I post with no links?

    Thanks again.

Hi, I dont get the problem of getting my ads deleted. Have you asked Craiglist why your post keeps getting deleted? They have a Helpdesk so i think you can check with them to see how you can solve your problem.

I imagine that the users flag your ads as spam and that they're onto your tactics.

      Hello!

I think that my "competitors" are flagging my ads. I am changing the titles, body and re-posting the ads every 48hours only.

... Time to go back to the drawing board:rolleyes:

Hello! ... but Craigslist is notorious for member moderation and have a low tolerance for spam. You didn't say what kind of ads you were posting, but you are clearly violating their TOS in the frequency of posting ads and under multiple accounts. If they are affiliate ads or CPA, you shouldn't be at all surprised.

The problem is your are allowed to post your ad 1 time every 48 hrs and in one city. There are plenty of experienced users that can easily see what your doing. Craigslist will delete you if they catch you and the users will flag your ad as spam if posted more than 1x in 48 or if they see your ad posted in there city stream more than once. They can tell you are posting in multiple cities if you post in a surrounding city because craigslist adds those when a person does a search. They get results for their city and nearby cities. If you're posting affiliate products they will hit the prohibited link. It takes being flagged multiple times before craigslist deletes you. Just like many forums they are member moderated. Even if a ad isn't against tos or policy craigslist will remove you if flagged enough times.

Flagging of ads is also dependent on the section in which you are posting ... i have tested it ... i have posted ads in the service section which stay live for even days and if you post ads in the sales/wanted section for anything it usually gets flagged within hours ... sometimes within 2 hours .... usually competitors flag your ad willingly .. i have seen people paying for flagging others ads .....

you can try to post in different section or try to make them as unique as possible

Last year I was selling my 1 tv. My 1 ad had 1 picture and no links. Everyday my ad was deleted. And I know it was my competition flagin me. So I started flagin their listings. Theirs disappeared as well. So flag them. Anyways, it took me a week to sell my item and I never could figure out why it was deleted. Anyways, I just hate craigslist because of the ridiculous nature of flagging.

Your problem is that you are using Craig's List at all.

Aside from the other violations of their TOS that have been cited here, you are using the service for something it is not intended for.

The TOS is very clear that if you are not posting about something that has specific relevance to the city you are posting in, you should not be posting.
