Where to find legitimate eBook writers?

Hey all,

Looking to get eBooks written on all kinds of topics but I'm not looking for the regular $1/100 words crap from people in India. I'm looking for legitimate experts in their fields, preferably in the U.S., who aren't afraid to charge well for their writing but who will deliver quality work.

I'm not looking for college grads who can research topics. I'm looking for people with real-life experience doing the things I need them to write about.

I've tried Elance but...meh. Underwhelming to say the least. Don't even get me started on the swamp that is oDesk.

Thanks!

Be prepared to pay around 3 cents per word minimum if you want such quality.
Chris is right, pay the right amount of money and you'll attract more quality than you can shake a stick at.

But I rather suspect you already know that you get what you pay (or seek to) pay for.

    Good luck!

Great place to look is the warriors for hire section...

    I'd check out Rose Anderson:

Rose did a book for me and her work was MUCH better than the crap several other major providers on this forum did (and she costs less too).

However, since the OP said he wants to find "experts in their fields" to write his books, how can we be expected to make recommendations as to where to find then when he hasn't said what the field of expertise is?

It's rather hard to make a recommendation without knowing the niches that you're looking at.

The books are in the career niche--teaching people how to become certain types of business owners (i.e. dentists, wedding cake designers, event planners, etc).

I hate to say it - but a lot of writers either put ebooks into PLR or on Kindle. They can usually make more money that way than they can being paid to write one for someone else. Be prepared to spring BIG bucks on the book - especially if you need someone actually degreed in the field you want material written in.

I was ready to say Odesk when I read the title of your thread. LOL I suggest go to forums for those niches. Read some posts and see who seem to know a lot about the niche. Send private messages to those people and ask them if they would be willing to write an ebook for you.
