HELP - A Marketing Stragedy For Promoting My Album

I just finished my first album 12 months ago and the album has just been sitting there - no sales yet. I would really like to hire a music promoter but I haven't been able to meet a genuine music promoter here in NY yet - just pure talk.

My ultimate goal is to go global and make a positive worldwide impact with my music and live performances while making a handsome income.

I sing, perform, play guitar and piano and arrange my music tracks before taking them to the producer. I would like to hear my music playing in movies, sung by other famous artists and played on the radio. I've done a few local tv shows and live performances and i've gotten great response from the crowd.

Given the changes since the advent of internet what would you say is the best stragedy to get my music into the world?

    You'll no doubt get a few replies here about boosting youtube views etc, which is something I have no experience in.

    but saying that, Reddit is something you need to look in to.

    Register an account (completely free, takes 30 seconds! Not even an email is required) and spend some time browsing and commenting on posts etc. Learn what the community responds to.

    If you've got any sense of wit, you'll fit right in.

    Once you see what works and what doesn't, submit your album (or a single song, both of which should be youtube links) to Music - they're huge fans of unheard music (no offense, but 0 sales makes it seem this way).

      It sounds lame but I don't care, I took my little cousin to see that Justin Bieber film when it came out at the cinema (She is 6). To my surprise, there are loads of little marketing nuggets in it and how he achieved his fame, I suggest you start looking at what people have done to achieve fame, learn from it and implement it, plenty of case studies online.

    Take advantage of organic traffic.
    Organic traffic is free, which is why it is best if you focus on attaining it for your web page. Organic traffic can be obtained if you are able to take the right steps in applying SEO. Aside from that, you can also achieve it if your site has good content. Thus, focus on this technique, since it can make your site gain more traffic through search engines.

    do you have any money to spend to promote your music?
