Coming down from a campaign HIGH!

Hey All,

I can be a real ass sometime. But I just have a super low tolerance for "Guru Speak" regarding my list. "Treat them the way you'd like to be treated"...you know the rest. I need your opinion on whether or not this was the prudent thing to do this to my list:

Hey,

There's a real excitement that comes with a great marketing campaign. Writing the copy for your solo ads. Setting up your list on your autoresponder. The sound of your 'email notification' welcoming another lead to the family!

But alas, like all HIGH's, you must return to earth. So, let me make one thing crystal clear. I am about my business; and my business is to sell the best products I can find for you to grow your own fruitful enterprise.

On a related note...got an email from a young lady who had no money, and was attempting to play my heart strings, by repeating over and over again on how she has a disability and I need to be more caring toward folks like her.

Her simple solution was that I set her up in business and pay for her expenses until she reaches $300.00 a week. True story.

Moral of the story: If you think I'm gonna be your "Freebie" dealer...guess again Bitches!

Wally

There you have it. How do you handle dead weight taking up space in your autoresponder? If you have a more 'Sane' way then me. I'm all ears.

My writing in the email seems a bit jacked up I think...cuz I was pissed.

Dead weight is dead weight. A hand-out is not a hand-up. That lady may have a disability, but that doesn't mean that you should hand a business over to her because of that. I am involved in a business where a lady didn't use her disability as a crutch, instead used it as a thorn in her hind parts. She was bed ridden but still worked it to the bone. She is VERY successful now.

The point I'm trying to make is if somebody didn't work to get what they have, they won't appreciate it when it is fruitful.

As for the dead weight on your list, purge them. If they are on your list for a long time and they don't even open up your emails, they need to go. They already discard your emails as soon as they see them if their inboxes. If they don't just forward it to a spam folder as it comes in automatically. After you purge it, do the steps it took to get it that size in the first place. That way you have fresh blood.

That lady may have a disability
Disability means nothing online, if you can type on your laptop, you can make money online. Most people with disabilities will not use it to gain favors, she must have been lazy.

What is the point of this? Who cares is there are people who want free stuff on your list, so long as you have people who will buy. You need to convert the freebie seekers with a high value very low cost deal, and certainly not that way...

You don't NEED are opinion on anything.

    You just NEED results.

Is this approach working for you financially...

    ...or is it not?

I personally can't see how insulting people
for asking for something is cool.

People ask me for things, favors, business
    all the time.

MOST of the time I say "No" and ask them
to 'pay to play'. But I don't insult them for
    asking.

    But that's just me.

If this brash approach works (think 'The Rich
Jerk')...if you can pull it off AND make money
    doing it...knock your socks off.

I think sending an email like this every once in awhile is good to filter out the non-buyers from your list.

But from reading it, you came off as a bit crass. I like the direction, but I'd tone it down a bit.

      A bit crass?

He came off as an immature jackass having a bit of a tantrum.

"Treat them the way you'd like to be treated" isn't just about some kind of sweetness and light 'guru speak'. It's a very pragmatic strategy.

What do you think happens next?

Your woman with the disability spends the next however long it takes her to run out of steam telling anyone who will listen that she asked you for help and you publicly blasted her for it. She'll spin her sad story of how you're just 'one of them, trying to keep her down'. And so on.

Turn your search filter up and search for sucks.com, and read the thousands of stories about how 'the man' is holding people down, and how they could live well if only it weren't for 'them' hogging everything to themselves. Then look at how many 'likes' and 'shares' such stories get.

Far better to have quietly told her that you weren't able to help with her request, and moved her to the "psychic edition" of your mailing list.

I would set the business up for her.

I would keep control over everything and make her email me the content to put on the site. I would keep control over the list. Everything.

and then when it was making $300.00 per week or month I would say OK it is already now how would you like to pay for this.

You will always have people who will NEVER buy from you... even if they remain on your "free" list for years. Roll with the punches, and focus on the people who will give you money.

Hey, there's always gonna be the real pain in the you know what freebie seekers.

Just think of the services that you have provided that have helped people that they have paid money for.

That will get you through the few ones that don't.

    Story -

I have signed up for email lists now and again. I sometimes read them and sometimes do not. I rarely buy anything because I'm in this crap to make money, not to spend it. Sometimes I don't even bother to look at the freebies offered, however, sometimes I take adantage of one. But.......every once in a long while I see something that strikes me as something I need.......and it's the right price so I fork over for it. After years of sitting on a list and being useless to the list owner, he finally gets a morsel from me - and every morsel adds up to a meal.

Had I received an email that said that to me, I'd be off the list immediately. There would be no hope of future enticements that would be FINALLY be rewarded. I just turned into someone that was just dead weight and will never be coerced or developed into a paying customer.

Um........it's called "business" for a reason.
