Does Blog User Registration Include New Post Updates?

If someone Registers as a User on my blog (not Subscribe to my double Optin Email List), do they automatically get notified when I post a new article?

I've always thought that they didn't. Is this correct?

    Hi Carol, I wouldn't have thought so, no. That's a guess. I'm not trying to be "difficult", but how can anyone possibly answer this confidently without seeing the blog and/or at least knowing from what sort of software/CMS it's made, what the process to "register as a user" entails, what happens to the information submitted during that process, and so on? I think it might help people to reply if you could give a little more information?

      Hi Alexa, sorry if there wasn't enough info. I was talking about the basic WordPress
      /wp-login.php?action=register option and with no extra privileges or writing/contribute/or admin access.

      I do offer Commentluv choice of Articles to link with in my Comments if people Register. That is what they would be registering 'for'.

      I was just wondering if WordPress (not me or feedburner) sent them updates simply because they Registered as a User with no posting rights.

      I can't imagine that WordPress works like that - I just wanted to check.
