What to sell to Middle Eastern visitors?

I see that a lot of people focus on the European and/or American market when making money with websites, but how can I monetize the traffic I get from Asia and the Middle East?

This is a good thing to do some market research for. Search around the web for what sells well in those countries.

Ideally you could put up a poll (or ask your list) what they would be interested in. That's the best way to find out!

You could sell them guides on how to haggle better?
Just be prepared to drop your price three or four times,
and add in a few bonuses. :p

I have done some research for it and quite frankly I'm not getting any wiser. It does however look like a lot of them are what some of us would consider poor, so selling might not be the best way to go; maybe signups or something like that would be better.

From what I've seen (I haven't checked ALL of them though) most of the visitors that are staying and are interested in what I'm writing are between the ages of 20 and 35, both sexes.

What kind of site do you have and how are you getting this traffic?

A lot of countries in the Middle East & Asia have rapidly growing numbers of young people who have education and employment opportunities that their parents never had. Combine that with increased internet penetration and you have a recipe for a 'new frontier' for those marketers who know how to take advantage of it. You seem to have some kind of an inroad into this market so do some proper testing before making a decision on whether to continue.

      Nadim.

Edit: The context of my post was meant to be that although your site visitors may be poor right now, they have a good chance of increasing their disposable incomes over the next few years so these markets are well worth keeping an eye on.

The Asian and Arab community are very large, as I am sure you know... as in VERY large. They make up more people- than Americans, Canadians, and many other groups of people combined.

That's a lot of people that you can potentially be selling too- and each one of those people is probably either going to need a partner, or already has one.

Most people- (not all, but most), generally speaking, eventually find some kind of a mate, or want a mate.

That being said, a good angle therefore to perhaps start out in, is the relationships niche, for BOTH of these groups of people.

That being said, sure there are slight differences between the Arab community and the Asian one- but both groups still have the same fundamental cores, about basically finding a mate- and wanting a way to make that work out.

Some of those people, might be married, but their marriage is failing- or they are miserable, and need a way to fix it.

Others might want to be with somebody- but that person doesn't want them back- so they want to know how to make this person love them.

You will also find people who want to get married- but can't even get a date, for the life of them.

You will also find people who are looking for marriage- and need guidance on how to find a partner- or who are willing to pay to join a marriage matrimonial site.

All sorts of different scenarios happen, and there are many more where the above examples came from... but keep in mind that dating and marriage advice- though the two are very SEPARATE topics... but you can sell both- or either or (and many things inbetween).

Honestly, a large consumer base of online purchases in the relationships niche- consists of the asian community, and the arab community. Mind you the two are a little bit different from one another- culturally, religiously- but the basic fundamental principles are still in place.

In this case- you have a few options for trying to sell- you can find leads and get paid for them, for online dating websites. Basically- what you do- is get people to sign up or pay for memberships to dating sites, and you can make some money this way.

Or you can head over to clickbank or any kind of vending network that allows affiliates- find a product that you feel would work well in these markets, and begin promoting this online.

You can do that through various mediums- you can make a Facebook page for example- might be a page about funny relationship images or something even- just to get attention and followers, and inbetween can post about people stuck in relationship issues. Just a small idea- as an example.

You can work on getting natural traffic to a blog that you create writing about how to- for this subject, or giving advice- and then selling at the end- your product, to saying something like- oh but if you want to TRULY do such and such, then this is what you need to do- click this link here.

You can JV with somebody- if you are not 100% sure, and if you have some skills on the table that you can add, maybe graphics, maybe you can write- etc... and then work together on either creating a product, promoting a product, or selling something.

You can create an opt in page, get people to sign up to your email list- and blast out emails in intervals, again giving advice, talking about things, and selling every so many emails.... based on relationships (or based on the subject below).

You will find a lot of people in these countries also in need of self help and motivational material.

Many of these people are unhappy in their lives, hate their jobs, perhaps need more money etc.... so it's not a bad place to start, to try and sell these folks any kind of self help material- to help lift them up. If you need an example look into Tony Robbins' material- he does self help, that is up the alley of what I mean in this case.

I am sure that you know what I mean here, about many people just being miserable, especially those in 3rd world countries- and there are both arabic and asian people stuck in that situation.

And maybe those people need advice on how to make money online- they are desperate and will pay to get tips.

Maybe they just want a way to not feel so down- maybe they are ok with money- but just need a way to level out their moods, and the lows- and just need some motivational uplifting- and some self help.

Another Niche Idea That You Can Sell:

Maybe they are fat- chunky. Maybe they hate the way they look. They had too many Maharaja burgers, or perhaps too many Big Macs. Either way- they just want to work out and get a nice body- or maybe they want a quick and easy way to make the fat melt off their body.

All they know- is that they are almost desperate to be given a way to do this, and be told how to do it. They have heard of certain ways of doing it- but are not 100% sure- so all they need is that last kick in the ass, to finally get moving- and BAM you are making money, because you were the person to finally show them the beautiful door that opens up to whatever the heck it is that they wanted health wise.

There are many health related products online- information products- they are called. They sell information- about weight loss, bodybuilding, overall wellness etc...

All of these niches absolutely apply to basically almost every country these days- there are overweight people, and unhappy people all over the place.

You will never run out of people who are in need of health advice- honestly... and that expands well beyond weight and physical fitness.

You can even head into other health areas- some people sweat too much.

Some people want better hair and nails.

The list just goes on and on- and there are products out there already, that you can promote, on these subjects and many more subjects.... your job then, would be, simply to create landing pages (mini lead in sales pitches that lead the reader to the actual sales page in a very consistent flow)- or to create a place online, maybe through a blog, through a website, through articles... all kinds of things where people can come and be redirected later to these sales pages.

Your job is basically then, to just make sure you have the customers- that you set up the sales process as best as possible (optimized, to make sure that the flow is smooth, that people are hooked properly, and that they don't get distracted, bored, or simply confused).

I hope this helped you a bit.

P.S. I have heard over time, that some Asians suffer from extremely oily skin, large pores, and intense acne problems.

The same may be true for Arabs- but I have heard this a few times now, that some people of Asian descent get really bad acne.

There is of course, an Acne niche that exists in the marketing world- and there are many acne related products that you can sell (become an affiliate and promote)... to this community.

The health and beauty industry is extensive- especially in Asian and Arab communities. If you ever need an example- check out Korea and Looks- you will find people talking about how in Korea, it is a social staple for people to basically all attempt to look like prim and proper models.

I am not talking about American standards for looks and beauty here- I am talking about a much more obsessive and intricate social realm, where one's public image is highly valued, and people work intensely hard to try and appear good looking. What that means, for Korea, in this sense, is that the health and beauty industry is booming.

Of course this is spreading to other areas as well- and in India for example, in main cities- you will find inside the malls, many stores that appear in malls in the U.K. and U.S.A.- and especially stores popping up like Sephora or Mac- makeup stores, and many more spa related businesses, and skin care stores.

That industry alone- is vastly extensive, and beauty is something that is valued in almost every culture- but the difference of 2013, is that mankind is engineering all sorts of ways to enhance beauty, to prevent aging of the skin, to get rid of acne etc...

And this idea appeals to many- from rich to poor- to have a way, to look and feel better- and have people like you, and be considered attractive etc...

I have one niche that just pop in my mind : dating niche, find a partner for you life.
Considering Asian and Middle Eastern people are pretty busy area, where the working hour in there can reach more than 10 hours a day, they rarely go out to bar and socializing. Just sell an advice book about how to win a woman's heart, How to be a gentleman, that cliche niche might works wonder if you put your mind into that.

I disagree that nothing works- because these people DO spend money. The thing is- is that even if a person is really poor- they still spend whatever money they have- and how they spend it, is based on what they feel they could most use in that moment.

Some folks might skip eating, because they are so desperate to figure out a way to make more money, so they spend their food money, on products teaching them how to make money online- for example. This is a priority to them, because in their mind, they need a way to make more money consistently, so they don't have to worry about not having enough food in their future. There are people like this- it's part of the reason why this forum exists in the first place, and people ARE making money on this forum, because of that fact too.

Others might instead, spend that money on food- as they see this as their priority, which is also fine- but somebody is still in there making money off of this: produce/food vendors.

At every turn, somebody is there, willing to take your money- should you want to spend it.

The key is convincing them that they need to spend that money on you- so if your customers are not buying from you- after trying out all these niches- then your selling process is weak.

Furthermore- I must mention that many people who seek out porn from Asian areas, are looking for free vids- not saying that there are not people who will pay... but keep in mind that some asian, and especially "Islamic" arab and asian countries actually have porn sites blocked, and have to find back doors to get to this.

This means that it's not exactly easy for them to gain access to sites that require paid access- and they most likely therefore go for the free stuff that they can access.

As for the "Dating" advice- honestly as mentioned in my other post, there are so many people out there, especially from these two communities, who really need advice and help with relationships.

How you seemed to have missed that mark and bypassed all of these people completely- I am not sure- but again, I think it "chalks up" to your sales process. It sounds like your method of selling in the first place, simply is weak. It might be your copy/pitch- it might be your transition into the product.. it might be your content- but it's definitely something related to how you are selling here..
