Does this plan work??

I am having a plan to build a big health niche website. Plan is to find keywords with low to medium competition in the range of 300-400 searches per month, not more than this as I feel that many people wont go for these keywords due to their low search volumes. PLan is to make a list of about 500 keywords with 300-400 searches per month and getting content for this, i.e. about 500 articles drip fed daily at one article a day. When you add all individual keyword searches, even though they are just 300 per keyword, they will add up to a lot of total searches per month, and hence more traffic and since low competition, may be more rankings too?? What do you guys think?

Yes that plan does work! Truth is, even when you care targeting more competitive keywords you can get a whole lot of traffic from long tailed keyword combined that you would get from the main keyword you are targeting.

Also a random fact is that most keywords that people use to find your website has never been searched for before. So the more long tailed keywords you target, the more traffic you'll get from new keywords that are people are searching for everyday in your niche.

It sure does work, you just need to put in the time to make or outsource all those articles! That's where most people fail, but it is definitely doable if you stick with it.

I agree with going after long tail keywords. You won't get many hits for each one but they'll be super targeted and you won't have too much competition for them.

    Good luck!

This is fine as a plan.
But you need to be the sort of person who can patiently build a project and wait for long term rewards, What you describe is an 18 months long commitment to daily work. Your returns will not show in any large way for the first year. IMHO

Authority sites are certainly the best way to build a long term asset, as the others have mentioned it may take a bit of time for any money to come through but have patience.
The Health Niche is a great evergreen niche as well. Best of luck!

It's exactly the method we use to target our own authority niche sites, although we use bigger search volume keywords to push even more traffic to our sites.

I have tried that and I have to agree its more effort and time before you reach your target but its all worth it. I think just somebody mentioned this but I want to repeat it, just be more patient! Good luck mate!

I think it's a good plan. But you have to be very patient and dedicated. Well, it seems like you are. Do you plan to write all 500 articles or would you outsource some of them?

The plan is good. You also need a proper funnel to monetize the traffic you will receive.

How are you going to monetize these visits? Remember keywords need to be the ones that will bring $ not just ones in your niche that dont have a lot of competition

      Hello Guys:

Thanks for all the replies and positive replies that this can be done. Yes, these are not money keywords or buyer keywords and I am omitting them in this as they are tougher to rank and have more competition. My goal is to get traffic combined from all 500 keywords. I am going in the health niche with different categories. However, I wont omit product keywords all together but sprinkle product reviews in between so that the traffic can take advantage of that as well but my website wont be depending on these money keywords to rank. I also plan to use adsense and affiliate products as monetization options along with product reviews and also offer a product and build a list. SO, thats my plan in brief. Please comment

Health isn't a niche. It's a multi-billion dollar market. Not even multi-million dollar companies go after the 'health' market. What you need to do is find an actual niche.

In the general scheme of things, having such a site is not bad. But it really depends what your intention is.

Obviously it's to syphon the traffic from Google - but it can be a hit and miss doing the SEO strategy that you have above. Some of the "easiest to rank for KW's" won't rank at all for whatever reasons.

In any case, you should try building your list/audience first - at least while you do the dripping thing. Once your list sees your (hopefully) cool articles then, if you have social media buttons for example, then they can share them, like them etc, and you can get a positive SEO side effect that way from people linking to them.

Don’t forget that the quality of your content will attract your potential customers, or this content will send them away. Finding keywords is necessary, but writing a magnetic content is more important than playing with keywords.

Health is a complicated market for many reasons. You must find specific health problems that your website will solve.

This method will work, It will get you a lot of traffic over time.
It is like getting low hanging fruit from a tree.

Just produce quality content and the views will come.

You just have to keep at it once you get started.

Yes that's a very fine plan!
Just make sure to build some backlinks too. If you build high quality content and build backlinks your site will get high PR in the next update. If you have a pr3 site for instance you can easily rank any of the long tail keywords, even with around 1000 monthly searches.

    It works!

    The hard part:

Keeping going until you get up to 500 articles. As long as the keywords are targeted and you have a decent product with a good call to action you will make sales.
