How should I sell this article?

I am writing a truly great article on weight loss. I am planning on submitting it to ezine, building backlinks to it and then having it redirect to a landing page, on my website. It won't be the homepage but a category on the website.

The article is turning out to be quite long. I am thinking of writting a shorter "teaser version" for eazine then directing the users onto the landing page, with the full version of the article and all the points elaborated. There I will also promote my product.

What do you think? I am worried because I'm afraid that the shortened version won't offer as much value as the longer version. The landing page will also not be a homepage, but a page on my website which covers a broader range of the niche....

It you believe it's too long for EZA, why not turn into into a squidoo lens or a hubpage. Then have that pointing to your landing page.

You can then write a condensed version. Pick out some of the crucial points of the longer article and make it into a "5 Top Tips" or "7 Proven Strategies" for your ezine article.

You can also add your EZA RSS feed to your lens or hubpage, thus linking everything together!

hmm great idea, I'll have to think about that.....
Which one do you think will be easier to be indexed and rank up on google? I may use squidoo as the landing page itself.... with affiliate links on it...

Well with Hubpages you can't have affiliate links, so you will need to link to another one of your own webpages. Squidoo, yes you can use that as a landing page. Many people have done so with great success.

I was just reading another thread about Squidoo and the discussion is centred around it being a great platform to use as a landing page. However, because of the additional distractions around the page, many people click out prior to getting to your affiliate links.

So you may consider donating all the lens proceeds to charity and then just having Google ads on your lens. Thus meaning the only place for click happy people to click out would be the google ads or your affiliate links!

Another great free platform is, of course, blogger.com. You can have affiliate links, add some content regularly, write posts that just have an introduction and then link to one of your ezine articles, squid lenses or hubpage, etc! Blogger is also a web page that all social bookmarking sites allow..

    I agree with affilcrazy.
If the article you're writing is too long, use it for squidoo. Then social bookmark the squidoo page to increase your ranking on SEs
