Windows Update Problem?

Hey Gang,

I have my windows update setting to automatically install updates on my computer... however, I see on the bottom of the task bar I click and it says Install updates to your computer -- 9 important updates are available

Why is it saying that if I have my windows settings to install updates automatically? And I double-checked my settings.

When You click to ignore the updates it will go into a query and you have bypassed the update.. also you must shut down your computer sometimes to have the updates automatically installed.

What do you mean, click to ignore the updates? Where do I do that? And should I do that?

Your computer regularly checks for updates and can download them at any time. Once they have been downloaded onto your computer they are waiting for the next install time. The icon displays in the Tray to let you know updates are scheduled, save what needs saving etc. You can install the updates before the time set up in Auto Updates if you want (click on the updates icon in the tray and in the updates window click install updates) or wait for the automatic updating option you choose. If you choose the recommended option, updates are installed at 3:00 A.M. or on a schedule that you choose. If you turn off your computer before the scheduled time, you can install updates before shutting down.

If your computer is in one of the power-saving states (Sleep or Hibernate) during a scheduled update, and if your computer is plugged in to a power source, Windows will wake your computer long enough to install new updates. If your computer is running on battery power, however, Windows will not install updates. Windows will try to install them instead at the next scheduled installation time.

I think you have the Warrior Forum confused with Microsoft.
    I know, it's a common mistake.
You should try ask them your question.
