There have been some good changes at createspace and kindle

I haven't seen anyone mention this so I thought I would.

I uploaded my latest book to createspace today. I used their cover creator tool as I always do.
On submission of the book I was asked if I wanted to publish the book on kindle.
I accepted this option and watched the magic happen as my book was instantly made into a kindle version.

This has solved three problems for me.
1. I do not need to reformat the book for kindle.
2. I do not need to create a cover for the kindle edition. The createspace cover is moved over to kdp automatically.
3. I do not need to manually link the two versions. This is now automatic.
This saved me a whole afternoon in time, and made the process of submitting a book very simple.

More time for writing!

Thank you for sharing this amazing changes with us, I also noticed last month when I was Uploading a cover design for a client that it now accepts .JPG format not only a PDF as before.

    Awesome update KenJ. Thanks.

Any idea if you can still remove from createspace for a time if you are using KDP select using the method you have mentioned?

You can continue to market your book at createspace and still join the kdp select program.

I've seen that before but never used it because I didn't trust them to format it properly.

Did the formatting look ok on all kindle versions?

Did it make a clickable TOC and remove the page numbers from the pages and TOC?

      Hi Lee
The page numbers were removed and I have checked on an old standard kindle and a new kindle fire. Everything looks fine.
I did not have anything click-able in my book so I cannot confirm that.

        That's awesome!

I didn't t mean anything clickable in the book because I guess print books wouldn't have that. I meant a clickable Table of Contents in the Kindle version ... you know the TOC that you can bring up by pressing a button on the different Kindle devices and apps.

I think Kindle requires that now so it probably knows how to make one from the createspace book which is really cool because figuring out how to get one in there can be a pita!

Seems like a good option to use because formatting for kindle can really be a pain.

I noticed that too. But here's a question.. if you want to edit your kindle book and not the print one, how do you go about that? I often keep both versions slightly different.

I've helped a few people who did have formatting issues when they tried to format their Kindle book using Createspace. It definitely was not the optimum so I wouldn't recommend it for the Kindle.
