How To Get NEW Clients

Hi,

I am interested to know how do people go about getting new clients?

I am on able to use the internet or phone, I can not physically go to a clients office and have meetings. So I need to telecommute.

I am good at doing webdesign, SEO, copywriting and other IM tasks and skills.

I have worked with small to big clients in IM over the past 8+ years.

My problem is that I have a hard time trying to find new clients, it is not my strongest skill. Or the client wants me to come to there office to have a face-to-face meeting which I can not do.

I would appreciate if people could help me to figure out some good ways to find new clients using the internet or phone that are effective.

      Try warrior for hire, I see that your reputation is more that enough to gain the trust from other war member. I know some people who are looking for long term project with a web designer, just send them your portfolio. You might also want to choose which skill that you master the most and then sell only that particular skill for more fee. Good luck!

    Odesk and similar site , make a search on G.
    Better here too.
    why not starting your site and offer your service in a competitive way ( i mean cheaper than competition for start )
    Why not sell ready made sites here ?

    Create and build yourself as a brand on your own site. Become known as the go to guy for this sort of work.

    First you might want to go through freelance sites, but as you become known, referrals may start to work in your favour. You're also a known quantity by that point too...

    Learn sales. I know it seems like a broad suggestion, but the truth of the matter is, sales will get you VERY far.

    See, it doesn't matter anymore if you can design, program, do seo, etc etc. (That is, unless you are the absolute best of the best). If you aren't, you slip through the cracks quite easily.

    What you need to focus your efforts on is learning sales, because the rest of the world doesn't have the artistic or creative skills you have, but they sat down and learned sales. And THAT'S the only reason they make more money offline or online than you do.

    Set up a simple funnel, ie. Cold Call > Set Appointment > Meet on GoToMeeting for Appointment > Close

      Attend live events. It doesn't seem like a lot of internet marketers attend live events but that is where the money is at. It's not in the list, it's in your network

    I'm sure this question has been asked many a time before...I would suggest signing up to a lot of different freelance sites.
    Fiverr has the suggest gigs box where you can find people looking for your skills and Fourerr has Gig Wants which can help you find new people to work with.

    Probably best to stay local - Look in your yellow pages and find companies that do not have website listed - Means they probably don't have one. Call them up and explain your situation, then offer your services at a discount due to your predicament.
