What would YOU do to get $500?

I know something similar has been brought up in the past, and usually there are some great insights.

If you needed to earn $500 in, let's say, 4 days, what would you do? You have no list, no products, and could spend no more than $50 to get rolling. You have nothing. It has to be marketing related. Selling sperm doesn't count.

Can it be done?

No, I don't need $500. This is more about all of the different techniques available to people. We don't need to know your secrets here. Just a brief description.

For me, being in the "offline" niche, if I was desperate, I would spend a day putting together a nice website for myself($15 for domain and one month hosting) offering to build sites for others.

I would then compile a nice package of printed material via open office(free) explaining what I do. I would then hit as many businesses as I could dropping off that info, with a special 1/2 off discount to build them a website(normally $1100, yours for only $550, valid one week only).

Try and speak with the business owners themselves, but since we are on a time contraint basis here, I just keep rockin on to the next business if they are busy and leave the material and follow up via phone the next afternoon.

If you hit 20 businesses a day for 3 days, I guarantee you will have made at least one sale right away.

Not the optimal way to approach this niche, and only recommended this way for the the purpose of this post.

So what's yours? Affiliate marketing. Develop your own product? WSO? PLR? Rememer...4 days. So most aff programs pay out every 15-30 days.

$500 in 4 days? That's easy... I sell my services as a writer.

Anytime I need to come up with fast cash I'll offer discounted site copy, press releases, sales letters, emails, you name it.

IMHO, when it comes to generating cash in a hurry, selling services is by far your best bet - whether on or offline. Online you've got the option to sell writing services, design services, programming skills, script installation, site building, etc. There's always someone needing your skills if you're even halfway dedicated to what you can do.

Don't forget selling your goods...Many people have a bunch of stuff lying around that they don't use or wouldn't mind getting the money for. You can sell through Craigslist or some such site.

I think that without a lot of IM experience, it's best for people to turn to things they know, like selling things or services.

      Love,

Selling services is definitely the easiest idea.

I don't think there's time to create a product, so I might dabble in a bit of affiliate marketing. I know you said you need the cash in your Paypal account within 4 days though, so I'd find a product at www.7dollaroffers.com that sells for about $20 and pays 100% commissions.

At $20 you'd need to sell over 25 copies (due to Paypal fees) and if we assume traffic converts at 2% then we'd need to send 1250 people to the site.

If we have a budget of $50 then I'd either use it for Adwords, or pay for a solo ad (or a top sponsor ad) in a newsletter.

That probably won't get us 25 sales, so we'll have to use free methods too.

The usual things, like putting a link in your forum sig (if it's allowed), article marketing (we may have to get a domain for redirecting which can cost about $3 or $4 if we use a .info), Craigslist posting, Yahoo Answers.

I'd also try and write articles and contact list owners if they'd publish your content in their newsletter if they give you a link back. That's a good way to get quick traffic.

If you put your mind to it and worked very hard then you could easily get 1250 uniques per day.

Selling your talents and skills whether it be technical as in programming, graphic artist, web design or something like article writing, ghost writing, copy writing all can easily make you 500.00 in a few short hours let alone days.

Joint Ventures are something I highly recommend and participate in on a regular basis. Whether it be JV list building or Joint Venture Partnerships where you jointly create a product together.

Products can be easily created and in a short period of time too. Within hours you can have a completed product you can sell.

The suggestions to sell your own possessions personally I feel is a cop out but many people make that suggestion frequently. With the internet, Google and your own talents, skills and experience you can easily research a product idea turn it into a marketable product using open office, audacity or a sleugh of other software out there and be selling your product from idea to completion in only a few short hours.

If you do NOT want to go that route the there is affiliate programs, selling other peoples products. You will need a domain, hosting and an autoresponder. I suggest Getresponse it is only 17.95 or 18.13 if you use a credit card per month. Hosting you can get for as little as $5.00 and a .com domain for 9.95. Thats somewhere around $34 dollars

If you go the technical services route you do NOT need a domain or hosting. Same for writing.

I personally do a combination of things Coaching and Mentoring, Technical Services - Website and Server Administration, providing stable outsourcing and free lance services to other business owners and Joint Venture Partnerships.

My talents and skills aren't exactly "normal" since I have been doing coaching, technical services and head hunting for many years. What I enjoy doing is taking people who think they have nothing of value to provide and get them up and going with a sold income in a very short period of time. I charge quite a bit for that too.

Anyway, what most here have stated. You have to sell something whether that be your own skills, those of others or you perform something for others, create something of value others would want or combination of these things.

It primarily comes down to your self belief, what you believe is possible and your drive to take action immediately without hesitation THROUGH completion.

my 3 cents on this subject,

          - Terry
