Marketing in different languages

Has anyone tried tapping foreign language speakers, or even people living in the U.S., U.K., Canada, or Australia that actually speak a different language other than English?

I was born and raised in the Caribbean, and fully fluent in Spanish, but have been marketing English speaking niches since I started 7 years ago. Just curious if anyone has tapped niches outside of the English language.

    In the US and undoubtedly other countries, non-English speaking populations are deeply underserved. Even if English is secondary, conversion rates can be dramatically increased with promotions in their primary language. Besides English, my promotions include specialty marketing in Spanish and French, using writers fluent with not only the language but in the nuances of the underlying culture as well.

    Putting an option of translation at other languages will surely help at these cases. I agree with the point raised by @Myob that -
    English is secondary, conversion rates can be dramatically increased with promotions in their primary language.

      You are, unfortunately, missing the most important part of the message above yours. "Option for translation", which in 99.99% of cases of ignorant marketers means machine translation... is total crap. There is no better word for it.

    I've done adwords for clientes, and I can tell you there are a lot of niches in spanish where there is few competition and good margins.

    If the product is selling well in the English market, I am sure it will also be selling well in the other language too. But I think the key is to make sure that the product is translated properly so that the potential customers will be able to understand the content within the ebook. A market that is worth looking into.

    Asia have a good amount of population, they know internet, PayPal, and English language. I think they are a potential customer. But not every people in Asia know english, and there are many language in there, different with each country such as tagalog, filipino, india, bahasa, malay, etc. So I hire a native translator in oDesk. Finding a quality assistant is quite tiring, but once you have found the diamond assistant, your business in that country is secured. You can tell the native to translate your ad copy with additional strategy that suit the internet user in the respective country.
