instant split payment solutions?

I know paypal offers adaptive payments where - when someone makes a payment - it is instantly split between 2 or more recipients.

I also know that paypal made a change to their system earlier this month (this change forced me to install a new version of my membership script so payments continued to process and report properly).

Here's my question...

Does anyone have a suggestion of a script (not a service) I can use to collect payments from customers and have it instantly split between myself and someone else (for ex: the person who referred me to the client)? Or, even better, a script I can use the instantly split the payments 3 ways (for ex: between myself, the referrer, and my sales manager)?

No, I don't want to use a service. No, I don't want to track in my own affiliate program and pay at the end of the month.

I'm not at liberty to disclose WHY I'm looking for something like this... but I need something that will basically generate "buy" links and - instead of all the money going into my paypal account - a percent goes into my account and a percent goes into another account (or is split among 2 additional accounts).

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
:-)

My understanding is Seven Dollar Script does what you need. Not sure if it's still available.

JVZoo with affiliates that you trust set up for instant payments.

I thought PayPal let you designate a dollar % between two parties (you and your affiliate).

I don't need an affiliate program like RAP.

I don't know anything about the $7 script... does anyone have a link/info on that?

Can't use JV Zoo (I don't want a service... they take too much of the commissions).

I've talked with paypal before posting here. Let's just say they were less than helpful. The upshot was I would need to find a payment processor or script that integrated with paypal's adaptive payments... but paypal has a list of over 250 and I don't have time to sift through all of them.

Was hoping I would get lucky and find a warrior who had already been down this path and was familiar with a solution that would work for me.

      Still hopeful that will happen.

Correct me if I am wrong but both scripts mentioned above (RAP and 7DDS) work by rotating payments - not splitting it as the new adaptive payment method does.

I believe you're right. I need something that will split the payments so each party receives a percentage of every purchase.

      Thanks for catching that.

I didn't hear yet of a stand alone script (not a service) that uses the adaptive payment method

There might be somewhere... we just don't know about it.

Actually, Istvan, you're right. I don't know about the 7Dollar script, but RAP rotates the payments between the vendor and affiliate.

The PayPal API is not that difficult and actually a coder can get good help from the guys over at Paypal.

I suggest that you post a thread in Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You and you should be able to get it written for $50 to $100 (Rough estimate).

It is definitely not rocket science.

      Holly,

It's been awhile since I used it, but 7 Dollar Script is what I used and it split the payment every time someone brought in a sale.

The only problem with 7 Dollar Script is it's pretty complicated to set up. I found someone to install it for me years ago.

Here is the information of the person who set it up for me: Rob Richards rmarketshare@yahoo.com

Don't reply if you don't know the answer... especially, if you don't take the time to read the whole thread. And before you talk back: learn the difference between adaptive (split) payment and rotating payments.

FYI: there are a few of us who used the 7Dollar Script and we happen to know it does NOT split the payments. It rotates the payments.

I have used the $7 Script and IT DOES SPLIT THE PAYMENTS.

If the product is selling for $20, I receive $10 and the other person receives $10 EVERY TIME.

Don't be such a grouch. I'm trying to help...

The problem with the 7 dollar script is that it used the mass pay to split the payments and PayPal put a stop to that. The RAP script was similar to the 7 dollar script in a much friendlier format but because PayPal stop people from using Mass Pay to split the payments is when Sid Hale came up with the rotating solution.

            Just a little history lesson,

    Hi Holly,

A year or so back I had this working with WP-InstantPay. It was really great- I could have a $100 paypal product split any way I wanted- i.e. $70 directly to my paypal, $30 directly to my partner.

If I remember, there was a somewhat lengthy process to get it set up (getting approval from Paypal?) but once it was up it worked like a charm.

Tonight I dusted it off as I now have another application for it... and I'm getting an error when I install the plugin. Bummer.

    WP-InstantPay_error - hamilton33's library

Was hoping someone here might have found something, I'm in the same boat as you. If paypal has this API, I wonder why no one has pursued this.

If you happen to find a solution, please let us know, I'll do the same.

    Dave

Everyone, thank you SO much for all your feedback. It sounds like WP Instant Pay is exactly what I need (I've emailed their support about the error Dave got) if they can ensure it is compatible with recent versions of wordpress (their support already confirmed it still works with paypal, in spite of paypal's recent changes to their system).

If WP Instant Pay doesn't work out, I'll take a serious look at the $7 script.

Again, thank you all SO much for all your suggestions!!

Please, don't. I mean don't waste your time with it because despite what that ignorant guy said above your post - it does not split, it rotates.

He should go back and read page #40 in the installation guide...

7DSS doesn't split payments between you and the affiliate. Instead, it's the sales that are
split. If you're paying 50%, then every other sale will go to the affiliate. If you're paying
75%, three out of every four sales will go to the affiliate.
In our example, affiliates will get paid 75% for his referrals. This means John Smith's
first ten referred sales will look like this:
    1. John gets paid 5. John 8.You
    2. John gets paid 6. John 9. John
    3. John gets paid 7. John 10. John
    4. You get paid
The affiliate is always paid on their first referred sale.

I appreciate you looking out for me.

If WP Instant Pay doesn't work out, I'll INVESTIGATE the $7 script (since there seems to be some confusion over whether it splits or rotates payments). Obviously, if it doesn't split payments, then I won't be able to use it as a solution.

Hopefully WP Instant Pay will work out (I'm keeping my fingers crossed because it looks like it's exactly what I need).

Thanks for keeping my best interests in mind Istvan.

I contacted Rob (the guy that installed the 7 dollar script for 3+ me years ago) and he told me the script rotates payments. It doesn't split them.

Istvan was correct. Sorry for the bad information.

Now I just need to pray that Big Mike has updated his script and the error message Dave got was a fluke.

          Good news Holly,

Since this morning Big Mike and his team have been amazingly helpful, and WP-InstantPay is 100% working for me.

By the way, my problem wason my host- specifically my PHP version (needed v5.3), which Mike's team kindly upgraded for me, and I was in business.

There was one "approval" that I needed to get, but the instructions were very good, and it only took a few hours.

If you'd like to see what this looks like, click the buy link on this site, and you'll see that the paypal recipients have a 60-40 split, which I set up as a test.

Hats off to Mike and Ralph at WP-InstantPay... love this thing.

Thanks for the example... it's cool to be able to see how it looks in action.

It's good to know that Mike and his team are so responsive... especially when you think about how little Mike charges for the script.

I posted a reply here but don't see it.

I have a script that you can install on your server that does use PayPal's Adaptive API to pay partners, affiliates, broke or affiliate manager at the point of sale on every sale.

It will do single payments, subscription payments, subscription payments with a trial, dimesale solution and Kunaki solution. It also has a shopping cart that uses the adaptive api.

Send me a pm if interested in a tour of sites that use this script.

    best regards,

To everyone who has been reading this thread...

Steve Yakim showed me his script yesterday... and it is AWESOME! In fact, it is SO robust, that I plan to move all my products over to using his script for my affiliate programs AND to use his script to handle commission payments to my salesteam for offline consulting sales.

According to Steve, the script won't be available till September or October (it's in beta right now, although it works like a charm). However, he is in need of a handful of beta testers (I JUMPED on the opportunity!). So, if any of you might be interested in helping beta test this awesome script, I suggest you touch base with Steve directly (believe me, you're gonna be blown away by what his script can do...think "infusionsoft on steroids!").
