Hi, My travel site is in my signature below, i have a good base to start a business with over 7000 facebook fan page and decent traffic yet i have only recently tried to start it as a business. Not sure what to start with making money have recently added some affiliate links and tour packages. Not making much at the moment but to be honest not really tried till recently, not sure what direction to take. |

Re: Anyone got a Travel/Tourism website? I have about 40 or 50. Bought them mainly because I like the domain names. Some content. Make some money from adsense, plus a little from advertisers approaching me directly. I've not really seriously bothered with them so not making much. |

Re: Anyone got a Travel/Tourism website? I also have travel websites. You can see the list here in different European locations : Europe | Simply Travel Guide I am open in quality link exchange or guest posts exchange... only related sites to the same location, I am promoting... |
Re: Anyone got a Travel/Tourism website? The most money i think comes from direct advertisement and from your own books/guides and then from affiliates (Its more easily to sell $7 eBook rather than $400 flight). As i said there are many methods to generate income from your travel blog. Make your own guide and sell it via your website (create also kindle version and sell it via amazon) Hotels, Flights, Cars, Tours Packages ... Think about insurance and outdoor equipment Search in amazon for gadgets and travel accessories Make direct advertisement (banners, Text links, widgets with your hotels, restaurants, business in your area) Built an email list and send offers (hotels, flights, car rental, coupons for restaurants/bars/cafes tour packages etc..) Write sponsored articles You can also built a membership site and provide consultancy/experience about your destination. . . . In my opinion: I'm never go for general travel website. Go specific and provide high value about your destination. I don't want to built a travel blog about Europe or Italy. I want to be specific, and write about Skyros or Hallstatt. Make an awesome and attractive website full of content and the rest will come Don't forget to Sign up with CJ and you can take a lot of ideas about what to promote. |
Re: Anyone got a Travel/Tourism website? Thanks for all your tips and advice, i just got to sit back and think where the next direction is, such a lot to think about, i may advertise for a partner to help me take it forward, someone with the same interest as me. |

I have done well by footslogging around local area businesses: hotels, motels, attractions, and selling space on a directory dedicated to the local area. It's hard work initially, but then eventually you have perpetual income for almost minimal time. |
