Google Analytics - Concerns?

Hi, When I first started IM couple of years back, I used to use Google Analytics for my websites. (Mainly blogs). Then I started reading on here and other forums, some concerns about using Analytics cause to drop in traffic etc. I switched to Statcounter right away and have been using for about a year.

Lately, I have been wanting to switch to Analytics again. I liked the many features it offered and I am putting few of my blogs up for sale and many people trust Google Analytics reports over any other.

I was wondering what's your opinion and experience about Google Analytics.

Not sure what you mean by this statement, I have always used GA for reporting, I have sold quite a few sites and that is the first thing they ask me is for access to my GA..

Stat Counter does not have all the analytic reports you need to back up your sales and traffic statistics.

GA is the best if you ask me..

    Cheers,

My experience with Google Analytics has been very good and it's definitely the best free analytics software out there that offers a lot of options on how do you wish to slice and dice the data about your website visitors.

The reason why people has been saying that GA reports a lower number of visits may be due to the fact that it does not take into account artificial hits such as hits generated by various online bots. Well, it's not a tool that you should go to if you are trying to inflate your visits count but it is good if your goal is to build a solid website with a real audience.

I agreed with you. GA is the only traffic report I trust especially in flipping sites.

There are some site sellers deliberately boost up the sites traffic using robots/spam to have great Stat Counter traffic results.

As long as you are doing the correct methods driving the traffics/ viewers to your sites, I don't see using GA is an issue at all.

I think you are right, the fact of the matter is everyone trusts anything with Google's name on it so my recommendation is to stick with GAnalytics

Google Analytics is a free outsourced service from Google

In our opinion, Google Analytics is the most intuitive and easy to use web analytics tool on the market today. Its straight-forward user-interface, increases discoverability and accessibility of data - allowing you to quickly get to the information you need to see. It empowers you to turn data into actionable information.

You have the comfort of knowing that all hardware, bandwidth, maintenance, backups and update requirements are taken care of for you, by the world's most powerful and advanced network - Google.

I love analytics. It's powerful and easy to use, and their really isn't anything out there that compete with it. Most people use it, and there really isn't any downside to the code.

    Use it!

Google Analytics is definitely one of the best free tool around for tracking. Having said that. Why you switch to statcounter? Is there any feature that you need but GA does not have?

I am using Google Analytics for a while and found it very useful.I think drop in traffic is not because of Google Analytics.
