New Clickbank Product in the Making

I am going to be eventually releasing a product into the clickbank marketplace and I was wondering if anyone can help me out on some questions I have:

1. What is the best way to promote a internet marketing product for amazon affiliates that actually works for the person who buys it?

2. Would I be able to create a site that is for clickbank, but still have a JV Zoo site that would allow me to have JV Zoo affiliates promoting as well? Meaning, instead of getting paid by paypal, I would like to get paid via clickbank and payout my JV Zoo affiliates as well through that.

3. Should I create a single landing page or multiple pages for this?

4. I eventually want to upsell software and other methods that will helpout those who have purchase my intial product. Should I create a membership site or just gather their emails?

I will most likely be creating video's online to help those who purchase my product and should I send that out with an e-book, or post it on a membership site?

I would target amazon affiliates, find out where they are and then market to them. This could be in forums, or by partnering with other websites or vendors that have the audience you're looking for. I haven't seen your product, but I'd have to ask why you need to target amazon affiliates, you could target anyone looking to be an amazon affiliate as well possibly. If you did this you've open up your potential market base 1000 fold.

Yes, there is nothing against having your site listed on two different networks. However, you can't get paid with ClickBank and pay JVZoo affiliates from ClickBank too, that doesn't make sense. Each network pays its own affiliates.

Frankly, I would start with one network, prove that you can market your product and make a profit, then think about growing into other sites/networks, etc.

You would need two separate and different websites with different domain names.

That's totally up to you. If you want to sell a recurring membership get a membership site, if you want to simply sell one-time upsells then you don't need to make it more complicated.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the information miles it was extremely helpful. I want to market my product out to everyone whether they are in amazon affiliate program or not. As far as the other advice, excellent and very helpful.

For the upsell, I will probably be doing a 1 time upsell to those who already bought the product that will help them make even more money.

Just a thought for you about one of your questions above ...

    Able - yes.

Recommended - no, not at all. Very few (if any) serious, pro-affiliates on ClickBank will be willing to promote a product that also has another sales page elsewhere, where their ClickBank affiliate cookie won't help them. (Few people buy at their first visit to a sales page.)

This subject's discussed in more detail in many other threads: here's just a small selection ...

The bottom line, on this issue, is that if your product has another sales page elsewhere, you might lose the potential to be promoted by 5-10% of ClickBank affiliates, but those will be the 5-10% of affiliates there who collectively make something like 95%-98% of the affiliate-referred sales, so it's really important to avoid this! (If you need more information than this, let me know and I may be able to put you in touch with a couple of now-successful, professional vendors who have made this mistake in the past and will perhaps explain to you themselves why it's something they'll never do again!).

Thanks Alexa, you prove an excellent point. I should stick with clickbank first and see what happens. I've been looking online as for my "competition" in the amazon affiliate niche and I have only found 1 site that is actually making any money if any.

I think I can really crush the competition, if I market this well due to the success of my product.

There are some WSO's in that niche, certainly. I don't know about on ClickBank.

If I'd come up with a product on "Amazon affiliate sales", myself, I'd want to sell it through JVZoo or DigiResults or e-Junkie/PayPal rather than through ClickBank.

The problem with "IM-related products" at ClickBank is that some serious affiliates there won't promote in that niche at all. (I won't, myself, and I'm far from the only one!).

The reason for that is that at ClickBank, people are allowed to buy through their own affiliate links. So, in the case of a product aimed at internet marketers, some of the product's potential customers are going to be ClickBank affiliates themselves. And it would be very naive of me to imagine that those people are going to buy it through my affiliate-link, rather than through their own, wouldn't it?

So ... I can promote a product like that, but I'm often not going to be paid a commission for the sales I make.

And with tens of thousands of products there for me to promote, in niches that don't give me that problem, it's obviously not a product I'd be wise to promote there, is it?

I'd perhaps promote it anywhere other than at ClickBank, where I don't have that payment problem.

I offer you the suggestion that I'm clearly not the only affiliate who feels that way about it. When you look at different people's "lists of criteria for selecting ClickBank products to promote as an affiliate", something like "don't promote any IM-related products" is typically pretty high on the list, for understandable reasons?

So that's why I think you might do better almost anywhere other than ClickBank. Just something to be aware of, anyway.

Sorry, if I'd realized that we were talking about an "affiliate marketing product" (which you did specify!) I'd have said this in the first place, instead of making the point I originally made!

This is a brilliant post. Alexa has answered your question perfectly and has literally read my mind and wrote exactly what I was going to write. She saved me 5 minutes of typing. Thanks Alexa

No, you have a very interesting point. But the thing I like is that clickbank direct deposits the money in my account and I don't have to deal with paypal. I hate paypal, and I honestly don't want to use them at any cost at all.

The other affiliate sites out there that you mentioned, will they pay me via direct deposit or any other way?

I dunno if I want to give up on clickbank at all if I got a IM product that is unsaturated compared to other IM products that are out there. I definetly want to get the attention of serious affiliates who want to make money as well as make me money and I just thought that clickbank would be the best out of all of them. If there is a way thats not paypal, I might consider another site.

Yes, this is of course perfectly true. I take your point.

And one of the attractions of ClickBank is that customers can pay by PayPal without you needing to use PayPal to collect the money, which is a great advantage.

No, I think by PayPal. :p

Other "ClickBank-like" ways you can arrange for the customers to pay by PayPal without you needing to use PayPal to collect the money include Fastspring, BlueSnap (formerly called Plimus) and 2CheckOut. I can't remember how their "affiliate things" work, though - you'll need to check. As far as I'm aware, affiliates aren't allowed to buy through their own links, though. I think that problem applies only at ClickBank.

I posted a reply that talked about a course I'm taking about product creation. I included a link to the course and it was not an affiliate link because I thought this guy may have benefitted from taking it as well. I noticed my post is now missing. Did I break a forum rule by doing this?

I wouldn't have thought so(?). Maybe it just looked like it might be promotional, or a link to your own site, when it wasn't, really? (You could maybe suggest it to him, if it's without an affiliate link, in a private message?).

In any case, Kenster's Six Figure Alliance is the course I'm taking and it's great. If you are interested just search the forum and I believe there is a WSO about it. I think anyone wanting to get into product development would really benefit.
