Hello Warriors, I know I have been asking a lot of questions, and those that have given me advice and comments I appreciate it, and I will help you out as well. As of right now, I want to get a review of my membership. I'm against using standard IM style amember memberhsips, and have custom designed this membership myself. Before you go clicking on everything, right now only a few links work as the membership is not complete yet. Below are the few that you can see the basic functionality of the membership. If you go to The Warehouse >> Business >> and then Blackberry Wallpapers you can see a sample of how the membership would operate. Click to View Membership I feel it is important for your membership to have not only great content, but a great design, if your members are going to spend time inside, you have to be good on their eyes. Your comments are appreciated, thanks LMC |

Tina, Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you said it has a professional feel to it, that is exactly what I have been going for. |

Nice feel to it, but a bit sterile. Maybe something to personalize it to you -- a photo, a logo, a mascot? Also, you need a central welcome message that explains who the site is for and why folks should join. I'd put it right in the center below the links, boxed off. It should say, in essence, "Welcome! Here's why this site exists....." In other words, make it feel like a human being is welcoming another human being to the site. Also, maybe a video tour of the site and your resources would work on the home page. Best, Jon cbiclubhouse.com |

There should be a feeling of "hey, I'm glad you're here!" when you enter a site -- particularly a site you've paid to access. Have a look at the main page of my membership site (The CBI Clubhouse - a Community for Children's Book Writers Writing Picture Books, Easy Readers, Young Adult Books and More!) and you'll see that Welcome! is the first thing members and nonmembers see. My next step will be to add personalization via merge fields, so that a member will see "Welcome Back, Tina!" when they log in.I'm a big believer in giving visitors a sense of a one-to-one connection. Jon, You make some great points... Maybe a hand written, thank you for being members will be a nice touch. Tina is right about this being the backend to a salespage and stuff already, so members would already know what the membership is for, but some tutorial video explaining all the resources is a great way to introduce any new member to what is available. I do plan on doing the whole, "welcome back Tina" thing, I just haven't coded the MySQL database and all to set that up. Just the basic frame work. I appreciate your comments! |

Members may seem a bit lost when arriving there. How about a walk-through video new members can watch first to get the gist of everything. Mike Hill |
