How Much Traffic Do You Need To Make Affiliate Sales?

I have an authority site getting about 60 uniques a day, highly targeted traffic. I've been monetizing with AdSense did not make much. I just switched to affiliate ads, what can I expect for sales? No sales yet...

PS. No list yet but I'm working on it.

It can depend somewhat on the niche. I think though the odds favor links (not ads necessarily) to affiliate products.

But do build that list. Odds are even better.

    Hey,

No there are so many variations or factors to consider. It great that you are getting the visitors to the site, but have you got anything in place to have them to opt in for a free product or report?

Also what is your site, it maybe the layout or sales page or content needs to be more better crafted and refined

    So what is your site,
Do you have something in place to capture emails
How much are you spending on adsense

However sometimes these things can take time so stay patient. However if you have a good strategy in place create other sites, similar and have different offers, so conduct different approaches and test which works best

Simple... No one knows, You have to constantly tweak your ads and keep striving for better conversions from your visitors.

Ad placement, what ads your promoting and a number of other factors play into making money from your site.

Only you can answer this question after testing and getting real results. Other people's results will not mean anything to yours.

    So get testing...

It's a tough question to answer. Split test all the time and as everyone else has said....BUILD THAT LIST!
That's when you'll start seeing serious money come through

True that testing is the only way to know what to expect from your particular visitors, but from my experience, 1 percent conversion seems to be the magic number for a variety of different niches in which I've worked. I know that many people here talk about 20 and 30 percent conversions, but I've never seen that happen in 12+ years.

If your site is good and very well optimized then you only need 1 person to visit your site that is looking to buy that particular item.

I agree with the forum in saying you need to test, test, test! While building a list. Then know down to the decimal what your leads are costing you... This way you can get into paid traffic with more confidence if the ratios are in your favor...

Marketing is all about trial & error.
So no one can really answer your question as everyone pointed out.
What you need to do is, have an ad, analyse the results, tweek & keep on doing so

If going for the sale directly off of your site, you need to target buying keywords such as "buy X", "discount X", etc. If you rank these, you don't need much traffic as long as your content is good.

If you're looking to build a list, you need to publish great info in the niche as well as offer a good incentive for opt ins.

Naturally you can use both strategies on the same site (I do).

I don't attract much traffic across all 6 of my niches, but I earn very decently. The reason for this is I target buying keywords. Also, I promote great products that pay recurring commissions and high commissions (promoting local businesses and get a piece of the action). For these products, I may get 30 to 50 visitors a day to my "selling web pages", but that's more than enough to make decent money.

For decent listbuilding off of your authority site, you'll need some decent and consistent traffic.

It's possible to make sales with as little as 2 or 3 visitors a day if you're getting laser targeted buyer traffic. 25-50% conversion rates are very easy if you know what you're doing.

But if your visitors are mostly information seekers the conversion rate will be very low. Making sales isn't about the amount of traffic you get, the intent of the searchers is what matters.

It's not about how much traffic. It's about how well targeted it is, how/where you've generated it, and what proportion of it subscribes.

This is what virtually all of it depends on.

Even the people who click an affiliate link on your site and then buy a product through it typically do that having got to that page/link on your site by clicking on a link in an email you've sent them, which they were expecting and were happy to open, read, and click because of their relationship with you ... not just by being a "visitor" to your site.
