How to learn how to build a website

I am looking to learn how to build a website that will allow users/members to upload there own personal videos.


Where should i start, and how can i learn. I already have a great idea/ plan. I just have no idea how to build the website itself.

Books i can read ? LOL

    There are scripts out there that will do this for you, but it all depends on your technical experience and knowledge.

    Codeacademy.com has great free courses on html, css, and javascript that will teach you the basics and more advance topics.

      It's really easy to use, you can learn really quickly.

      Between that and some Google Searching...you should be good to go.

    Aside from Codeacademy you can also try W3schools.com, that's where I started learning HTML and other basic things in building a website.

    You can try weebly.com or webs.com.

    In my opinion, these two sites are very good for those (like myself) who do not know how to build a website from scratch.

    It is going to take you so much time if you start building it yourself from scratch.
    I'd say research and buy the software that does the job or hire somebody to setup a WordPress site with a membership plugin for you.

      You need to separate your plan into two parts.

      It sounds like you need to forget about users/members uploading videos at the moment and concentrate on "building a website". Everyone must start at the start line.

      I suggest you join a free host and build a website about something you enjoy, have fun and play around a while. Everything in life is a bridge to somewhere so don't be afraid to try anything, but don't expect so much of yourself from the get go that you hamper your progress.
