Question on GetResponse and mailing list

6 replies
Hi Folks,

Lets say I wanted to collect a list of names, is it possible to offer several free products in one campaign?

For example, I have campaign A and I want to offer 3 ebooks. Can I then offer 3 other products using the same Campaign A or do I have to create a Campaign B for that? If so is it easy to merge all the mailing list into one big list form all the campaigns for a future mailing?

So sorry I am new to GetResponse and any answers would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Raaj

    Yes but it's more of a hack.

    Make two custom fields, call one "product" and the other "dlurl"

    Then in your form code put:

    <INPUT type="hidden" id="GrCustom0" name="custom_product" value="My ebook">
    <INPUT type="hidden" id="GrCustom1" name="custom_dlurl" value="download url">

    Then in the first email put:

    [[fname]],

    Thanks for requestin [[custom_product]]. You may download it from:
    [[custom_dlurl]]

    The tags might be wrong.

    I do this and distrubute 20 or so freebies from one campaign.

    Garrie,

    Thanks for that. Lets say I decide to use a different campaign, can the mailing lists be joined as one or if merged will the users have to Opt in again? And how easy is that to do to merge it all into one list so I can then broadcast emails out?

    Cheers

    You dont have to merge them. When you do broadcast, click the boxes next to the campain you want to get the email.

    You could copy them though to another campaign and they wont have to opt-in again.

    Using one campaign for freebies is good because of how they count unique subscribers.

    If 10 people get on list A for product a and 5 of them also get on list B for product b, you account now has 15 unique people. BUT if you use the same list, you only have 10 uniques.

    So I can do the same thing when I setup an Autoresponder to feed a bunch of offers through intervals? If thats the case then I dont mind setting up a campaign for each offer as long as I can one day set up an autoresponder to send to all subscribers of various campaigns. This possible to do in GR?

    Thanks in advance.,

    Yes BUT if the follow-ups deal w/ one of the downloads, you need to make seperate campaigns.
