Lets say you run a big site and you didn't update for 2-3 days

Do you guys notice a decline in traffic? My average traffic lately is 41k.

I didn't update for 2-3 days and im down 3-4 k in traffic.

U guys experiencing the same pattern?

    That depends somewhat on how competitive your niche is.

    You should not drop dramatically in Google (for organic traffic) in that short amount of time unless you have competing web sites continuing to work against you.

    But if you run a big site with lots of keywords and traffic then your drop may be showing a loss of traffic from places your new content would normally appear but hasn't for 2-3 days. Places like Twitter, RSS followers, social bookmarks,etc.

    For a large site those sources could add up to a lot of traffic.

    onSubie is correct, you should not lose rankings unless you are being work against.. not saying to post everyday but if you niche is competitive you need to be on the ball, it could also mean that google crawled your site and 'de-valued" it based on content and backlinking issues... I notice I drop too on certain times of the day... kinda weird but true.

    Stay on top, constantly update and ping..
