NEED HELP WITH WEBSITE SECURITY AND DOWNLOAD PROTECTION

Here's my story so far...

Launched a WSO yesterday for a very modest price.

Payment structure on my website goes like this:

Pay
Sent to thank you page where opt in for aweber is
confirm subscription on aweber to get digioh download link
download your link

I received about 25 subscription notifications, but only one payment in my paypal account. I thought something was up, and sure enough someone posted on a forum the thank you link and 24 people got my $250 program for free. I have now taken my site completely offline to recoup.

Obviously I didn't think things through, and this is a setback.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to remedy the situation? Link protection, download protection, download delivery systems, paypal plugins, etc?

I'm pretty lost in the internet world, and am just trying to share a great product with people.

    Hey RVS,

    You have a couple of options but the simplest would be this.

    When you set up your wso, did you use WSO pro? There is a $19 fee, or you can set it up for free and pay a percentage of your sales, but it has two features I think you'd find really handy.

    The first is that you can upload a file (your WSO) which is automatically delivered when a person pays. A person can't get to the file unless they pay (unlike the current set up you have where if a person knows where your opt in form is, they can opt in and get the product for free).

    The second is that you can integrate it with aweber so that when a person purchases, they are automatically added to your list.

    Seems like that would take care of both of your issues pretty economically.

    Another option is ejunkie.

    It won't stop others sharing your files once they have them of course, but that's a whole other ballgame.

    If you only had one person pay, you've got a pretty good idea who started the ball rolling on screwing you over!!

    You could have your download link on a membership style WP site. There are simple plugins out there that incorporate their e-mail address as their username and generate automatic passwords.

    Just checked out your WSO sales page, have some observations.

    Your sales page/copy is quite drab and uninspiring.
    You are unknown with almost no interaction on the forum.
    There are no reviews to reassure buyers.
    Your price for a novice WSO author is quite high compared.
    I think you are going to have trouble getting significant sales.

    Just thought i'd give my 2 cents...

      True. That is exactly why I recommend all warriors to build their credibility on the forums before deciding to post a WSO. It will TRULY help greatly in your sales and I kid you not, this is a very important factor you SHOULD consider.

        Well, to be honest.
        When i see someone who just joined and who has no posts start off with a WSO i immediately think they are only here to milk the WSO section.

    You should integrate a cart solution. Try opencart, which supports digital downloads. Or if you're using wordpress, woocommerce works too.
