CD/DVD Fulfillment Conversions

Hey everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has ever split tested a product between digital and DVD delivery and if they noticed a significant difference in conversions? I'm just wondering if the waiting aspect of receiving a DVD pack removes that instant gratification of clicking the sell button etc?

Any ideas?

    Here's what I do:

    - give them instant access to membership site where they get to read some articles and watch some videos, solving the "instant gratification" problem.

    - still send them 90% of the material through mail.

    Hi Tyrus,

Yeah thats actually a pretty good idea to develop a membership site that anchors the large product and fulfills the instant gratification part of it etc.

Have you found that actually delivering a physical product allows you to charge a significantly higher price? and is viewed as more valuable?

Also, does anyone ahve any referalls for a dvd fulfillment service that they have used. I just googled it and saw that there are a ton of companies offering it etc...having a good look at: www.cd-fulfillment.com anyone used them and can give a review on their service?

Sounds like the split test mentality might be not the best direction.

Lots of people sell the download and then add the physical product as an upsell offer right after.

Why would you limit it? After all, since you already have the video, offer both, and you could use both situations as an upsell opportunity for the other.

You can also try Kunaki (dot com) for inexpensive onsey-twosey copies of your product, and increase that amount later. I think you get an entire packaged DVD or CD for like $1.75 + shipping, so obviously the more you order, the better your numbers with the quality break on shipping.

I think all you need is like 10 and you can even sell them on Amazon - you just ship them all 10 and they sell it for you. (I am not totally familiar with this - just relaying what I've heard on a video product marketing forum.)

    I hope this helps,

    - Paul

    Thanks Angel Guy!

I just had a good look at Kunaki and their prices seem exceptionally good. I think ill ring a few of these places and have a chat to their sales departments about my needs.

    Cheers for the advice!

    Hi IPlusGOLD:

Hope all is well. When you decide a company that can make either on demand CD/DVD or give you a certain amount for you to mail please research several things:
    1) Do they have a phone number. Some legit places give you price but only answer questions of any sort through email and that means you are out of luck on weekends.

    2) Turnaround time for both print on demand as needed or an actual order of 10, 100,etc.

    3) Type of media they use. There are several blank CD's/DVD's that have a very high failure rate and you do not want the customer blaming you.

    4) Who handles defectives/returns?

All these things are important. Finally the postage. You want to make sure are they charging you or the customer a flat rate anywhere in the country you live or will it be done by zone? This means a bit of a difference in price if something goes to New York or Hawaii.

Hope that helps. Enjoy the weekend and good luck.
