Wordpress Blog Creation Software

Before I go looking at programmers and reinvent the wheel, is there a software out there that will run like a glorified fantastico for Wordpress.

It'll install a blog, install 4-5 plugins and a theme, activate the plugins, delete the welcome post, maybe even sort some widgets out.

Does this ring any bells with anyone? I am sure over the years I have seen such things...

You can do it like this. Build the site out once, to the point you're talking about, then use a backup tool to create a copy. Then you can upload that database to any number of domains.

    Hope that helps.

If you want an automated way ManageWP is a great tool that I use. I just setup a cloneable site (or use an existing one) and it will copy it over, change the target domain for you and you get an exact copy. So what I did was create a site on my server that I only use as the source site, setup just the way I want. Then use that to copy/clone as a new site.

ManageWP also allows you to manage all of your Wordpress installations from one dashboard, update all sites, do site backups and a whole bunch of stuff. It is a little pricey but is top touch. Just the amount of time I save as I roll out new sites, keep them updated, and do maintenance, create posts (yes, you can write all your posts inside the one dashboard) and it even comes with upgraded security, build in SEO monitorings, stats, etc but you may have to pay extra for some of the SEO/advanced monitoring tools.

I think I pay like $20 per month to manage 10 sites. I am almost to the point where I need to upgrade to the next level as I start launching more.

I used tools like backup buddy and the free backup plugin (I forget the name), but they were pretty much a hassle. Backup Buddy is good, but ManageWP does so much more.. The downside is that is it subscription based, which I usually hate to do, but this one has far exceeded my expectations and is worth it.

    ManageWP.com is the url
