How to gain more traffic.

INTERNET MARKETING

I have a website that I am trying to get more traffic to. I get between 40 - 100 pageviews/day. I'm looking to increase that number.

I know to backlink by link exchange, write articles on web 2.0 sites with backlinks to my site. Is this correct?

Is there anything else that I can be doing to increase my traffic? Anything that I can be doing daily that will make a difference? I have time everyday to work on my site. So anything helps.

What is your site about?

You have not shared if you are posting on your site any new content on a regular basis. Are you?

Your existing page views, where are they coming from?

There are lots of ways to drive traffic if you have the time. Question is what are you doing to make sure they stick? In other words a portion of the people that comes to your site become a regular visitor? This is how you win on the long-run. Otherwise you will need to spend time on a daily basis to drive fresh traffic.

Have you looked into Social Media marketing?

  My site is www.MouseInsight.com.
  
  It's a Disneyland fan community site.
  
  New content is uploaded often and I have a facebook page for it as well with 96 followers. Started the facebook page on Dec 30, 2012.
  
  Existing page views are coming from google, bing, yahoo, facebook, disqus.com, stumbleupon, ect.
  
  Have a monthly newsletter as well.

SEO is a great way to build traffic to your website - but there are other free methods that can generate a ton of traffic too.

Some are...

- Forums
- Blog commenting
- Guest posting
- Writing articles
- Creating newsletters
- Social Bookmarking
- Blogging
- Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest)

The trick is to pick 2 methods you believe you would enjoy doing then stick to only those methods. Once you see results move to to 2 new methods.

After you have tried every method discard the ones that are not producing results - and focus on the ones that are.
