How to load/host a large file for download?

Last month, a local non-profit, of which I am a part, met to have a pretty important discussion. Many were not able to be there, but I recorded the entire thing on audio. It's about 2 hours.

What can I do so that others can download it to be able to listen to it on their phones or on the road?

Thanks!

Jeremy

You may want to compress it as a zip folder, then upload the zip file to your file manager (on a cpanel). Then, provide a link somewhere on your site to the file to download. Should be able to work on most phones, I think.

If the audio is clear I would compress it to 96kbps mp3 file. You can store about 2 hours of audio for under 90 megabytes. You could probably just upload to dropbox or host it on your webserver.

I use mediafire to handle my files above 3GB. Or if you want to play audio online without downloading, install a playit plugin to play the audio files online

2 good ways to do it.

    1) Use a cloud server. Most of them has some trial space such as Dropbox.
Many people use Amazon S3 too.

    2) If you have a web hosting and it has space available you can upload the file there through your FTP server.

Thanks, all! This is coming in VERY useful.

I am very active with a ministry that has "chapters" around the country, but am working on getting it here. Many wanted to attend this very important meeting, but couldn't, due to various reasons. This will allow them to hear, learn, and know how to plug in.

    I really appreciate it.

    Dropbox.com

Convert it to MP3 and save it in one of your Dropbox folders, then get a shareable link to it and send it out in an email or post it to a web page somewhere that they can access.

Dropbox doesn't charge for bandwidth, and you get 2GB of storage with a free account.

Dropbox and Mediafire have been lifesavers for me.

Mediafire may be best to start with if you are new to Dropbox and don't have enough hosting space.
