Do you ever delete products you've paid for?

Free ebooks are probably seen as disposable.

But do you ever delete ebooks or products that you've paid for?

I have, if I've viewed it as outdated or if it's more of a pain-in-the-ass than I thought it would be. Scripts and such.

I don't ever remember deleting an ebook that I've paid for, though. I guess I'll have to check the expiration dates and see if zip files are bulging.

I've probably lost a whole crap load of them while re-formatting my hard drive and I didn't back them up, but never lost any sleep over it.

Damn if I was smart I would do like WordpressManiac I would then through away all my PCs and portable drives make it simple, I have every windows version and there all full, even my widows 95, hard to believe my windows 95 still works and only has 15 MB of memory lol... but hey I was looking for a security download script the other day and I found one, tested it and works great!

Almost every product I downloaded over the years I recreated, I recommend doing this with any product you download but, always read what rights you have. Almost every site I received products from over the years don't exist anymore, recreation is the magic if they don't exist I think you have that right. I could be wrong but that's just my thoughts, most products come with images and ideas that are powerful, why these sites are gone I don't really know.

To end this... Hey me the dumbest guy out on cyberspace ... but hey its all good cause I still have google, do I like google, well that a whole new story for another time

P.S. I have a membership with someone I'm sure is still on warrior a lot and waiting for his reply, if no reply it's cool Oh yah me still alive for those who were wondering, don't why. Guess it's my madness:confused: lol.

No, I normally don't delete them but if it's something I don't use right away I normally lose it on my hardware somewhere . Trying to get better organized in 2013.

However, I do keep everything as sometimes they contain links or ideas that you might need sometime in the future. Just yesterday I pulled up a WSO PDF report from 2010 and one of the links is still helpful and it still worked!

Yes, but only when I'm changing computers. Then, I go through all the e-books and stuff on my hard drive, delete what I don't still want, and just transfer what I want to keep onto the new one.

I've pretty much kept everything I downloaded ever since I started.

I have about 15GB worth of ebooks, videos, tutorials, you name it.

      You should ditch that crap!

As a side note, I had a really honest buyer once send through a refund request (he accidentally bought the wrong product) and asked me "What do I do with this other one, should I delete it?"

If only more people were that honest.

I have collected so many ebooks and plugins that I don't use that I do clean them out even if I paid for them. What's the purpose of keeping that stuff you don't intend to use?

The only time I've ever deleted an eBook was when it contained no measurable value and was clearly just an ad disguised as an information piece.

Everything else, even if I had no immediate use for it, is in the vault. I'm a digital packrat, I have crap going back to 1996

Yes i have deleted ebooks and also video marketing courses that i have bought!

The reason is that ebooks and video courses can quickly become outdated, what work one year may not work another. And also the majority do not even work so are useless anyway!!!!!

Of course I deleted outdated ebooks, even those that I paid for.

There's no use in keeping all the outdated info, event it was "worth thousands" five years ago. If you didn't looked into the pdf for the last 2 years, the chances that you will in next 2 years are close to zero.

Even worse I've got products I bought and never even got round to downloading them.

On the plus side at least digital books can't gather dust and require physical effort.

Most of the time I don't delete them. Just try to keep organized and store them in different folders. But it's a good idea to check and delete some :-)

    Definately!

Sometimes quickly after finding out the ebook/ecourse is junk, like someone mentioned above when an ebook is just a glorified ad or sales page but portrayed as an ebook.

But usually after I have either incorporated that system into my overall business and found that it works and is a fit

Or after I have tested it and decided it does not work with my business or it does not work at all.

And yes especially if the tactics and strategies are outdated.

Yes, I have done a some spring cleaning lately and I was JUST APPALLED to see how many Ebooks and products I had paid had been sitting on my hard drive, doing nothing!! Some are no longer relevant due to changes with search engines for instance ( although I don't pay much attention to what Google says, since I believe in GOOD CONTENT only)! Some are just pure garbage but when I bought it I was really excited! Some were good but then I discovered the person behind the product since I don't like unethical people, that was headed for the bin too! Plus, they were not really good, just good marketing!

So, yes, spring cleaning is good!

I have a folder named "Crap" on my drive and that's the place where all this stuff goes... I don't want to delete it, coz sometimes I have a bit time and go through what I have saved... And many times new ideas come to my mind...

You should get into the habit of deleting stuff you don't need.

It only takes up room in your hard drive and your head that you could be using elsewhere.

If you generally haven't used something in the last month or so then it's clearly not very important to your current plans so get rid of it.

I used to do it this way, but sometimes I regreted that I had deleted some file with resources that I couldn't find after... That's why my "Crap" folder - you can always copy that on DVD or something, if you are short of hard drive space

Resources are a little different. But courses and all of that other junk that builds up on one's hard drive, that's what the delete button is for :-)

Yup, as you learn more and more you become an expert at spotting regurgitation, techniques that no longer work and total BS.

As an exercise look through a few and click the links in some of PDF's,

I personally would delete away all these ebooks that is not useful to me. However I do save those that I feel will be useful to me in the future. There are times when I will go through my old list of ebooks and get great ideas from there.

It is essential to keep organised with your product purchases if you are to keep your business efficient. If you can't keep track of your purchases, then are you keeping track of the rest of your business?

What you should do is keep an Excel spreadsheet with a column for every product you buy.

    Make a note of:
    - what the product does
    - how much it was
    - date purchased
    - how you access it (url? On your hard drive? etc).

Then make a "to-do" note in your to-do list that you need to check out the product. (Otherwise you might forget :-| )

When you have reviewed the product to go back to your Excel spreadsheet and make brief notes about what you think of it, and if it's any good. I number every product I buy and include this in the folder name on my hard drive (external) and in the Excel spreadsheet. (BTW I also duplicate my 1TB external hard drive my backup 2TB hard drive monthly, and store it offsite.)

At this point (of checking it out), if it's crap, then obviously you have the option to refund it.

In this way, you never lose track of what you have bought or the stage you are at with using it.

Generally, information products are passed their sell by date after 12 months or so. Sometimes quicker. So clear stuff out when you can. Electronically, this is less important as space is cheap. But with anything you print out you should review this stuff regularly and chuck out the junk.

I cleared a whole bookcase shelf the other day when my computer was being maintained.

This is the sort of thing you can do in dead time-for example, when on hold on the phone (or talking to boring people on the phone LOL), or even while your computer is rebooting, all your IT person is doing maintenance on it.

Clear the crap, and you clear your mind. Efficiency is very satisfying and you make more money

I only keep the eBooks that provide great value and keep my notes from the other ones.

My notes are more valuable than the eBook, since they usually contain my own thoughts, plans to use the material, and cross references to ideas from other materials I read.

I think right now I have about 4 eBooks left on my computer in original condition.

Software is my biggest weakness. It is SO hard to delete programs that I never use, but always think....maybe soon.
