In general, forum marketing is the good solution for getting targeted traffic. But your concern is to promote Amazon products via your site, i think you could use article marketing, setting up squidoo lens to build backlinks for your site getting more traffic.

Video marketing is working well for promoting digital products but i am not sure with Amazon products. Your goal is to send traffic to the particular products not the entire site. Make sense?
