Pros:

Content seems fine, didn't check if it was taken from elsewhere, is this all unique content?

Now just to keep adding content and marketing

Cons:

You need to be building a list for this! I don't see an opt-in or an offer

I wouldn't personally choose that theme, I'd go for something different, perhaps even custom made to set you apart from the thousands others who have sites on acne.

my only comment is be reminded that we are in the age of mobile and your text size is key to readability on mobile devices

your text area should work well on mobile devices

Yes the content is all mine, nothing copied at all. Have been meaning to set up an autoresponder. Must get that done asap. Would you recommend a paid theme? I had planned that but as money is a bit tight at the min I thought I would stick to the free one.

I've recently been impressed by the wordpress themes that rocketthemes.com have. They have the gantry system thingy, which is HIGHLY customizable. Literally can get the themes to look however you want with lots of tweaking. Then there's the obvious Thesis theme and the Flexibility 3 theme.

Also a lot of good options at themeforest.net

Here's a few themes that I uncovered whilst searching for the keyword health:

(The bit I was missing was that usually sites like acne go well with a blue type theme)

Don't let the fact that the themes are being shown as local practices turn you off, they can easily be made to function like online blogs

Do you know if they are easy to modify? I would have very limited skills when it comes to HTML and would hate to have to spend countless hours just trying to get one page right.

They are based on wordpress. You'd be able to edit them according to your capability with wordpress

I don't know how difficult they'd be to edit or whether they'd even need the code editing at all (probably not, these themes usually come with lots of features and template types).

Hi jimbob

First, for a newbie you are on the right track with your content. But I agree that you need a responsive theme and also one that is lighter in color. The dark background does not look very pleasing.

You do not need to buy a theme. There are many good free themes on the market from companies that sell premium themes.

I am going to give some links. They are not affiliate links so please feel free to check them over.

For example I use Canvas from Woothemes. It is a paid theme but I know that woothemes also offer free themes and they are very good and many people use them. Woothemes are very simple to use and you do not need to know HTML to modify them. Here is a link to their theme page. Just click on the free themes and you will get to a free theme page.

At one point I also used free Weaver themes. They also offer free and premium. They are very simple to use and the designer Bruce Wampler is a really nice and helpful man. There are nice choices there. Weaver II Theme | Home of the Weaver II WordPress Theme

It is good to get a free theme from designers who also offer premium themes because their free themes are very well developed since eventually they would hope to get you as a customer.

I don't see any indication that you want to monetize this site. have you create a sales funnel yet? you have a website, that is good, but where is the opt in section? where people who wants news feed can get updated with your post, you also offers a discount of certain product from there. if you don't have product yet, try to register to adsense for ads income.

Honestly not much to review since it's a generic wordpress theme.
It's a bit too dark for my eyes. Maybe consider changing your background.

I think you should have a picture of you somewhere. In your "about you" talk about yourself which is great but no picture. What are branding you or the site? If your branding YOU have a picture on the first page in plain site. It builds trust. Also and email opt-in box with a eBook or newsletter offer.

Looks like great content and your site is nice. Make a cool signature to sign off with at the end of each post.

Some pointers:
1. I think the content is good. But Too many texts. Your bounce rate is high
2. The page tags are far too many. Stick to maximum 6 tabs
3. There is no Opt-in Page . You should have one to collect emails.
This can be more complicated. PM me if you need to have more information
4. Have disclaimer/ pages
5. Have a About You page. Need to sell your credentials
6. Contact Us Page
7. Site Map. This will help your SEO
8. Post image too small. At least of 300 x 300 pixel size
9 Search Tab to be located at the top. Now it is at the bottom.
10. you can consider selling some products. This niche can sell physical products pretty well.

That all I have off hand.

Good content, clean design.

1. Need optin form with freebie
2. Need video (review of other products you are selling etc)
3. Need social media for extra exposure
4. If you get some traffic, you can perhaps recoup some investment with adsense, cpa offer etc. Ultimately, if you are passionate about this niche, you should come up with your own product.

your site looks clean and simple. keep that up. Add more unique contents frequently. I like the fact that it isn't full of advertising banners.
