Which is better? A Multi Product Review Site or Single Product Review Site?

Hi Warriors,

So, I'm doing affliate with CB at the moment. I've build my site up and ready to promote the program. But I'm a bit confuse now. Should I make it a multi product review site or just single product?

Please kindly give me your opinion.

Thanks a bunch!

Google has pretty much trashed small review site's, so I would go with the multi-review site and try to turn it into an authority site.

This 100%. Thin sites are poor anyway, with authority sites you have more chances to sell to them using linking pages, there are more pages indexed, more SERP placements, just more of everything.

How do you turn it into an authority site specifically? What content should I add into it?
Review only? Or should I add some articles?

An authority site can be seen as one of the market leaders in whatever niche you're in. The trick I've found is to go for one of the broader niches instead of a micro niche.

So for example - A Fitness Equipment review site, instead of a Reebok Running Machine review site.

This will give you the scope to review products from all the sub niches within the Fitness Equipment niche on the one site. Or you could narrow that down to the Running Machine niche and still be an authority, I prefer the broader niches tbh. What you want is for your readers and Google to see your site as the leading site in your niche. This takes time and isn't as easy as a smaller site. I have a few atm, and the best advice I can give is to get some credible writers who enjoy the topic they write about and employ them full time. Let them have their own section, topic within the site and be consistant. Create loads of articles and build up the trust, brand and authority of the site. Create loads of pages, cover every angle. Do loads of social media, YouTube videos etc.

If you were creating a review site for Fitness Equipment for example, don't just write reviews. Create comparison tables, articles on how to keep fit. Pros and cons of Gyms vs your own equipment, that kind of thing. Add loads of value. With the new author-rank, you might get some of your writers gaining credibility and ranking in the SERPs as well with your site URL.

In my opinion neither, everybody jsut about knows that all review sites are bias, and not really all that honest.

You'd be much better off creating an actual sales funnel to convert sales. Find a few problems people in that market are having, create some content to help them solve those problems then gently make them an invitation to check out a paid offer.

      I agree with Nic,

I have not seen any unbiased reviews.
All are trying to sell products.

It make sense to create a single product site to sell.
You only need a strong salespage to Pre-sell the product and
Direct them to the product checkout.

My early mentor used to tell us it's better to have one site per product, that way you would look like an expert in this area. But when you have several products on one site, it looks like a marketplace.

However, this is about product reviews, not products only, so that rule could or could not be taken into consideration

A Single product review site wouldn't come across as impartial, so would be lower in value.
I'd be asking your motives if you reviewed only one product, and probably wouldn't give it much value.

Google also doesn't like that stuff any more, and has probably devalued it for the same reason.

I've had much more success in the past by promoting more than one product on a review site and ranking them in order! Be truthful though, give your customers value. Purchase these products if you have to, or ask for review copies etc.

Henry, you will see dozens of completely different answers to your question here because there are so many variables, including but not exclusive: the demand of the product you are planning on promoting, the competition and the commission you will be earning.

If it is feasible to turn the site you have started into a multi- product authority site in the niche then I would suggest you go in that direction as it will give you more scope and have more longevity.

A Multi Product Review Site would be better as it gives more options for buyers to choose.

    My approach is as follows:

    1. Buy / try several of the products in the product line

    2. Publish 1 to 3 real reviews of the best products.

    3. Optimize review(s) for search engine traffic.

    4. BUT, don't create just a review site, create an authority site with tons of helpful non-review information. Build a list with the site and also drive traffic to your review(s).

    5. Continue promoting your chosen product(s) to your subscribers.

    6. Once you generate sales, if possible, try and negotiate higher commissions from merchants for featuring their product on your site.

In a nutshell, you don't have to restrict your site to just reviews. Make it a full-blown informative website that earns money from on-site affiliate links and builds a list.

I've done the monster multi-review site and it doesn't convert nearly as well as choosing one to three of the best products in the niche. Demonstrate you use the products. Be very detailed in your review. Use video if you can.

Another way to look at it is you can turn any niche website into a review site publishing a few reviews of the best stuff on the site. Most sites publish reviews even if they aren't a review site.
