Creating my first own product - Help

I consider creating my first own product, but I don't know which topic should I choose. I don't want to create just another "how to make money online" ebook. I like cars, so I'd like to create a product about cars, but I don't know what exactly about cars could it be.

Or I could also create an ebook in the health niche, as I had a skin desease (Vitiligo) and I successfully cured it with a certain ointment. I think I could maybe sell the information about this ointment and write in my ebook that it did work for me. However, it doesn't have to work for everyone and my ebook would be really short, as I don't know what else could I write in it.

Do you have any ideas about what my product could be?

In my opinion it would be really hard for anyone on here to give you any product ideas. You are the only one who knows YOU! The market should always come first. Trying to find a market for a product is not really the best way to go. It's much better to find (or create) a product for a market that's already established.

You don't have to know about a product in order to create it. You just have to know the business end of it. Henry Ford didn't know much about cars but he knew how to find people who could build them and he knew there was a market for it. Trump can't build a hotel but he knows travelers need a place to stay and he can find people who can build.

Think that way and a lot more opportunities will open up. Remember - find the already established market first then think about a product or service that will provide value to that market.

And no, I'm not talking about "becoming an expert" in something simply to sell to others who are just as new as you. Blind leading the blind is not a good business strategy. If you have to find someone to create something, do it that way.

    Andrej,

don't try to write an ebook on making money unless you actually do it. And if there's nothing new in there - you still would have problems selling it.

If you're an expert or very passionate about cars, there's room for it, but how would you monetize this topic? Amazon car accessories?

Health problems would be probably much better choice, but again what special would you bring to your audience, visitors and potential customers?

See an example, no aff. link, I Have Vitiligo - You Have Vitiligo. Now What?
You would need to do more that writing a short report on that.

And there's Amazon Kindle, ClickBank, JVzoo where you can sell your report just to name a few...

Hope that helps at least a bit.

That's not true at all. What would the back end product have to do with the front end offer? The two are completely separate. You could create that's simply a blank page and still convert at 10% if your copy is good.

The product being bad has nothing to do with selling. It has to do with the customer keeping it.

From my experience with car people, a lot of them are not passionate about reading, let alone doing research.

This gives you an opportunity to target these people. You need to write or create short products that solve a problem they have e.g. how to sell your car for more or how to have the best looking car in the street.

The secret is that as you are targeting people who don't like to read, your product needs to be short and to the point or in video format.

If you do any modifications to your car document them and create a product to teach others how to do them.

You're on the right track, create a product close to your heart, then its something you know about and you will enjoy creating it. You can't create a MMO product if you don't really know how to make money online. As well as been sort of unethical, you might offer poor advice and that can lead to bad reputations and less sales.

Look for offers, be it Clickbank, CPA etc in your chosen niche and try to solve a problem that people are having, then write about it. Do your research, make the content thoughtful, helpful and say to yourself would I actually buy this myself? Do you're due diligence on any offers / products and make sure they represent dollar value and if you can, try promote one of the market leaders so you can use their brand / reputation to guarantee higher conversions.

    Hi Andrej,
one Question: Are you trying make money online or becoming author?
The key element to sales in our business is marketing.
Marketing is the one that will make you rich.

Newbie should not try to create product, strongly not recommended.
It is too time -consuming. You need credentials for your product.
You need to work on key aspects such as
    1. Driving Traffic
    2. List building
    3. SEO
    4. others.

I recommended you to try affiliate marketing on niche you have interested in.
This will give you a feel how internet marketing is all about.

I don't have a lot of experience selling 'information' but i can guarantee its a hard damn sell. If you want to start making money tomorrow sell something tangible. It doesn't have to be fancy at all... You could make little fly fishing jigs to sell, or custom bumper stickers, or little smell good stuff... Just make something you will ship to folks, set up a shopping cart, and start selling. Think mom and pop crafts but on a much broader basis.

I've come up with some real dumb ideas in my time so far....BUT... to this point... I've never put a product online that I didn't sell at least one of...However they were all real things, things I had to ship(not counting adult affiliate programs)...

Just me way to late at night two cents...Best wishes for sure!

Here's a unique idea (I hope): How to Turn Your Vintage Car Into a New Motorcycle - Mechanic-in-a-box guru system shows an 88-year-old grandmother in WA how to turn her jalopy into a brand-spanking-new chopper, and she's got no hands! Done-for-you system just takes 10 hours or double your money back*

Really, I don't know, but just think about something in your field that you are good at. You should search around the Internet, Amazon and B&N to see what type of automotive books sell really well.

I made some sales when ebay first started, selling information about cars.
Most of the sales came from the United States.
I think you should go for this and also work on your health book.
I suspect the keywords for your health book will be favourable also as it is not a saturated niche like 'how to cure acne'.

I vote for the vitiglio, but I would definitely do some research in PubMed before writing anything up. I took very much the same approach to my first product (health niche, a condition that I myself had had and cured through an unconventional method) and that product currently nets me around $1K/month. So, worthwhile IMO.

No matter what, you want to stick to a product that you have true passion on it. Trust me, eventually it's the action taker who is working consistently towards his/her passion wins. Most of the failure are resulted by giving up too early. Without passion, the chance you give up too early is very high.

Spend some time to think about why you go for the product. What's in it for you? I spent 6 months training myself by reading more than 10 books including "start with why", "excuses to be gone" and going through a couple training programs and eventually find my "why".

For the "how" part, I will suggest you one major community I follow very closely as it teaches me how to get started step by step, Passive Income: The Smart Passive Income Blog - please be aware that this is not my blog and I don't get paid by promoting this blog. I just truly love it!

I wish you all the best with your venture. Kudos to you because you already come up and speak loudly on this forum - you are already way ahead the dreamers without taking any actions.

      Good luck!

I strongly encourage that you create your own product. It doesn't matter if you are new or old because the fact is that you have a good topic that you can write and share with other people and make money at the same time.

You were mentioning about the skin problem you had and how you cure it in a certain way and that is a good topic to start.

One idea I can give you is to create the info product on how you cured your skin problem in a step by step fashion and turn it into a PDF. (it better be good)

After that you can email/direct mail/telephone or whatever ways you can think of to contact a successful marketer that is already selling a successful info product from the health niche.

For example, you can go to Clickbank.com and check for authors in the health section such as acne, eczema, yeast infection and offer to JV with them.

You provide the materials and they can use their name on the product. Or better still if you straight away sell them your ebook and let them worry about the marketing themselves while you collect the money upfront.

BUT to do all this your product MUST be a GOOD one.

Funny how there is no known cure for Vitiligo... There are treatments which improve appearance but not a cure!! Do not offer medical advice unless you conduct studies yourself BACKED UP by scientific research which has been PEER REVIEWED and accepted by the medical field... It is just down right dangerous.

It's also funny that there is "no known cure" for panic attack at least that is what many conventional doctors have been saying to their patients.

They even make millions of people all over the world to believe that anxiety disorders are symptoms of mental illness. What a huge misinformation by these so called mental experts.

Anxiety disorder patients are being made to take dangerous drugs just to "contain" their symptoms.

When I "accidentally" found the cure to my own panic attack and use the same technique to cure my wife and friends, I now know that whatever comes from most conventional doctors are not to be taken as 100 percent true because there are so many misinformation and misdiagnosed from them.

I agree that you shouldn't take a medical experts advice in it's totality and you should question what they say... That's fine, that is us being thorough and making sure that the doctor isn't an idiot. Now, if you actually look at all the scientific websites on Vitiligo (The drug condition in question) they say there is no know cure, heck even the NHS website states there is no cure. Now we look at the websites which DO say there is a cure, they are sales pages... I know what one I will believe, go read some journals on the subject and draw your conclusions once you have done the due diligence on the subject.

I can't speak for panic attacks because I haven't looked at them... But from the initial understanding of vitiligo, that is a skin pigmentation, a panic attack would be neural. Two complete different subjects when it comes to science.

I like the idea that you want to create a product you like. I am a car enthusiast myself and the first idea that struck me was tuners. Creating an E-Book etc education people about the Japanese Domestic Market and how to tune a engine properly etc.. I think the market is there for a tuner e-book for all those rice burner enthusiast out there.

My suggestion would be to enter the market you are interested in, possibly cars, by going to clickbank and try to find as many products in the car niche as possible.

Then write small short reports first that you can give away to build a list or sell for just a few bucks. In these short reports you can presell one of the products you found at clickbank.

After you start building your list and learn what you need to do to giveaway or sell your short reports, you will know the market and the subjects of the products that are actually selling. You will learn what your target market wants.

Now that you are making sales in the niche of your choice produce your own product and make it better that what you are selling and then instead of promoting the affiliate product, you plug your product in its place. Now you are making all the profits instead of sharing with the product owner.

Then you can begin getting other people like affiliates to sell your product for you. begin your business at the beginning and put a plan to gether that will allow your business to continue to grow. But most imprtant of all, Take action and begin now to reach each goal that will start you on your next step of growth.

This way you will learn the ropes and not get at a point where you do not know what to do to sell the product you have created.

Every business is a step-by-step process.

I hope this has been helpful,

    Steve Yakim

I urge you, if considering this for an ebook subject, to take some good legal advice from a lawyer well versed in this exact area.

There's a world of difference between "curing" a medical condition and selling something while making a public representation that you've "cured" it. There are all sorts of legal, ethical, regulatory and practical difficulties and considerations involved in such situations.

Don't imagine, just because something's true, that it's necessarily also legitimate (let alone advisable) to state it as a sales representation. All the mistakes are "out there", just waiting to be made by the unwary!

    Good luck!

i would actually like to suggest a membership site or something like a e-magazine at $1 per month. You can get as many as you want and it will be worth it. No one will want to read a product but they sure do love watching videos, looking at pics etc. You can buy some magazine psds from graphicriver and experimenting them. Ebook is not the only monetization left for everyone.

So you are NOT actually creating a product, you simply WANT to create a product. Why this misguiding title then?! Think of what you know and how can this can help other people. Only YOU know the answer to that - look INSIDE.
