Hey guys i'm sure this has been covered a lot but I would like some advice.

My company are doing more and more on Paypal and receiving higher amounts each month...

This is great but i'm getting seriously burnt for Paypal fees...

We are currently running on an uncapped premier account...

Is there anyway around the fees or reducing them without leaving Paypal?

Also what is the Business account about and what do they charge?

Thanks guys.

If you have very high monthly totals, perhaps above $100,000 you can negotiate...but to be honest, you might want to move to a dedicated merchant account with Paypal option for customers, if you are at that point.

The Paypal fees are a pain, but just factor it into your business cost...especially with the tax man!

You are looking at total $$ fees when the actual percentage remains the same. Right?

If you sell $500 in product, a $10 PP fee seems reasonable.

If you sell $50,000, $1000 in fees sounds high - but it's the same ratio.

Once you hit $20,000 per month for 3 months your reserve will be lowered along with your fees.

Now you know the target you need to hit.

There is no option of cutting down paypal fees. You can raise the price of your products or services by 1 or 2% so that you will get what you desire and the trusted customers will also not mind this slight rise.

PayPal Customer care is very good. tell them directly by calling that you have a big business and high transactions everyday and they may help you with Fees or you'll have to get another payment processor. My friend did it he got a decent rate of discount in his PayPal fees and running on his business successfully with PayPal till now!

From my experience, calling Paypal would give you a more comprehensive and quick response

Concerning the fees, I am sure they can be reduced...but if my memory serves me right, I saw somewhere in paypal a monthly threshold of $3000 should be met monthly inorder to negotiate...I am not sure abt that though:confused:

But you are profitting more right?

If so, the fees are just an overhead expense of profitting more..?

This is one of those good problems. High fees, like high taxes mean you are doing something right ;-)
