Hi warriors!
Please, need your advice.
What hosting should be used if you start your own Autoresponder service - membership site?
What requirements are needed?

Are there any recommendations necessary to run autoresponder service?

All larger sites should be using Hostgator in my opinion. They have less problems from my experience and when talking with others.

Autoresponder Service? Are you starting something similar to Aweber?

I would start with hosting search - it should be a hosting that won't close you for spam the other day, but also shouldn't be a bullet proof hosting.
Difficult to find one I would say

Resources - a dedicated server or even better a colocation with possibility extend.

Autoresponder is not only a program it should be a email delivery concept. Any experience with SPF, DKIM, FBL?

      Yes, like Aweber.
And already getting all possible information for this.
I have no experience with SPF, DKIM, FBL.
I think hosting provider should help with this too, or not?

Is dedicated server good for this?

Web hosters would rather close you, they don't need problems.

After web hosting, I would find a person that may configure a custom web server for mailing.
Servers with WHM panel are not good for mailing. Exim is not a good mass mailing program. Do you know the daily mailing capacity of a dedicated server? A correctly configured postfix may send about 10 emails/second... Exim sends 1-2.

BlueHost> HostGator if you're looking for a cheap and reliable host. Aweber for the webhosting service.

I was running a list of 4.000 members on a web hosting with CENTOS and cpanel. About 50% of this list were non existent (too old) emails. After first mailing server crashed. Guess what hosters did with my web hosting accout?

Well a dedicated server would probably be okay for hosting the site to start, but realistically, to make sure you stay whitelisted in the manner that aweber does will not be easy.

The best way to do so early on would likely involve using Amazon's SES to actually send the emails for your account holders.

The other reality is that long term to host a successful white listed email service provider, you are probably going to need MULTIPLE DEDICATED SERVERS.

You are also likely going to need in house counsel to maintain compliance with various laws on the books, including EU regulations on commercial email, and the US CAN-SPAM Act.

There are going to be a ton of systems you need to put in place to make sure that you are good to go with the law.

I will be honest with you, as the autoresponder programs FOR WORDPRESS improve and associate with Amazon's SES the NEED for an AWEBER account at a hefty monthly fee is going to decrease.

When I can send a 1000 emails for 10 cents through Amazon's SES, even if I have 100,000 addresses on my list and I send 30 emails a month, my bill would be no more than it costs to host as many addresses on AWEBER, BUT what if I sent only once a week to that list? That's $40 a month for a 100,000 name list. My take on the situation is that the people who don't hammer their list everyday with a sales pitch are FAR MORE LIKELY to make sales when they do send something because the chances are they aren't selling anything, but providing valuable information, that will get people back onto the site and that will drive sales.

I can't see paying Aweber $20 a month to host a small list when it would cost me pennies to mail to that list with Amazon SES, and I can't see paying Aweber hundreds of dollars a month to host a large list when I'm the type who would mail infrequently to the list and achieve a better conversion rate.

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong, BUT I THINK the email service provider's biggest challenge is the existence of Amazon's SES.

if any spam complaints on you, won't amazon close your mailing list?
Google recently started a similar service, comparing prices between amazon and google.

I have several autoresponders that I host. whitelisting is a problem because some blacklist blackmail you to get of their list. You have to pay a fee to be removed.

You must have your own dedicated server to do this so the hosting company can have nearly as musch control over what you do. I'm using GVo hosting with dedicated server to host all my sites.

I belive their home page is...

GVO WebHosting - Professional Web Hosting Services

    I hope this helps,
