Allthough it sounds wierd, I actually think they do. At least in peoples minds.

iProduct has become their trademark way of telling it is a part of their portfolio.

Maybe you will get away with it, but I am sure many of your visitors will be confused or dissapointed when they realize this is not an Apple website or product.

    Apple don't own "i"..
However, we can easily tap on this free branding.
    such as
    iDo, iServe, iDon't, etc..

Can be really viral if done properly. Cheers.

You're asking if a website can belong to a domain beginning with an "i"?

  • It's scary that companies can can do this kind of limitation to what we can say or can write. It's just scary one day we have to tip toe around this. I'm for not allowing them to own it but I'm sure eventually companies will. It suck in my view, but I'm just a minority at this point.

here is a list of their trademarks, and as mentioned above, they do not own the rights to i+everything

Apple - Legal - Trademark List

Even their IOS operating system, isn't an apple trademark, it's a Cisco trademark

iDo not think they own the letter i. It's a letter from in alphabet used by people around the world on a daily base.. Though, if they could ask patent on that letter they would probably had done it by now. Imagine paying a few cents everytime we say the letter 'i'! We would be broke.

Not sure if it was intentional on Apple's part but its a win win situation for everyone really. Other companies get to the hop on the Apple bandwagon with their own i-products, while simultaneously increasing Apple's brand awareness. The BBC i-player immediately springs to mind when it comes to non-Apple i-named devices!

I would stay away from it, you don't exactly want attention from one of the richest companies in the world. Plus it's not all that original and a bit cliche at this point

Not sure what took so long for someone to say that . Companies cannot own letters. They can make a design around a specif letter and trademark it but that's about it.

No, Apple does not own the letter "i".

The company I work for (which is in the media industry), has recently changed their name so that they have a small i in front of their old name.

    No they don't own it.
In the UK we have we long established TV channel called ITV and Apple tried to impose their forthcoming TV brand on it and wanted to use iTV themselves. Thankfully they were told where to go.

iDontKnow, but I do know that some people don't seem to like
    iProducts.

For example, I bought my wife an iRon for our anniversary, and
she didn't speak to me for almost a week

iDon't think that Apple owns letter "i". If that would be the case the letter "i" should no longer be part of the alphabet. haha

iThink you're asking if you can set up a domain having that begins with "i"? I don't think that there's a problem with that.
