How to do youtube for peerfly?

Hello,

I am new here as of last night--glad to be here.

After reading a lot on WF, I joined peerfly and 7search. I am currently trying a PPL makeup offer on 7search, no clicks yet, but only a few impressions. Meanwhile, I had seen a YT video about using YT for peerfly aff links. I did what the video showed, found a commercial for the product and aff linked at the bottom. I gave credit at the beginning and had a caption throughout the clip (1 min) to click on the aff link. I thought, "wow this is great. Probably won't make much, but maybe when I have 50 videos along with some other methods."

As soon as I uploaded, YT blocked it for copyright infringement. Bummer. So now my question is "How am I supposed to use YT for aff links?" A lot of warriors have mentioned it, but I dont understand what kind of video you're supposed to make for these peerfly products if not using a commercial.

Obviously some people are using the commercial method, according to the video, but I am a company and don't want legal issues. I also don't want to waste time creating things that get removed.

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

PS Why is it that when I post a thread, my folder icon in the thread list is yellow with an arrow? Everybody else's is purple or on fire. What's up with that?

My guess is you used a Peerfly URL as the link instead of cloaking it and got flagged.

No i actually used a is.gd link. Why wouldnt the copyright infringement be for the commercial (actually it was a SNL skit)? That was my first guess.

I was guessing as to why you got flagged so soon. I've used URL shortners before, but prefer to reg cheap .info domains and use a php redirect.

URL shortners are well known to YT, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them look more closely at videos using those links. PeerFly URLs will be on a blacklist as a known affiliate network so I always cloak them.

I can't comment on the video as I haven't seen it, but if it includes copyrighted pictures & music then you can expect this to happen. I don't know how it was flagged so soon, unless you have bad account history or have just been unlucky. I've got plenty of affiliate videos from CPA networks / Clickbank running and had no problems.

The account was brand new. I didnt want to buy another domain yet and wanted to try direct linking to the CPL offer first to test the success.

Do you use commercials on your videos? or something else?

Is the only way to cloak by linking to a domain, which redirects to the offer?

If so, doesn't that mean I would need a separate domain for every separate product, since each domain would forward to a single separate offer?

That would be my guess. Since you used material that was protected by copyright law that isn't your's, I'm not sure why you are unclear why "your" video was flagged for copyright infringement?

    Hey mate,
If you don't want to have to keep purchasing domains, simply buy a generic 5 letter domain and create subdomains! This is all I do.
With these subdomains you can either redirect to your offer or use various scripts such as meta-refresh. I would advise you cloak those links with bevo media or prosper202.

    Good luck!

I have a similar method, but use a broad niche domain, subfolders and a php redirect in each folder to separate offers. I also use Prosper and use those URLs sometimes.

Its a self hosted tracking application to monitor hits on a link essentially, amongst other things. It installs much like Wordpress using a database. It includes real-time tracking so I can see whether links are getting hits straight away. Its quite fun watching 10 campaigns running at once, its click after click and you realize how much traffic is really out there. I use it for PPC, PPV and CPA campaigns. You can also use it to track hits on YouTube description links, or to see how many people are opening links in your emails. It's pretty flexible.

That sounds complicated at this point, although I'm sure it's useful if you have a bunch of stuff going. I'll revisit after my first PPL $500.

Thanks for the tip. I just found the cloak script on Prosper. The bevo video was making my brain hurt. I'm not ready to try and figure that out yet. This is already a lot of new stuff.

If I understand correctly, you have a domain and add a cloaked link as a php file in a subdomain. Then you link a particular offer to that folder (url), and the script redirects the "clicker" to the actual offer page. I could use that method on just about any website couldn't I? as long as I didn't mind it being associated with my links.

Is there any reason why I would want to keep that setup separate from any of my known domains?

Thanks for all the help folks. Reading a forum can be really informative. But getting direct answers to a specific question helps too.

Thats fair enough, there is a learning curve using tracking but its essential for paid traffic, otherwise you have no idea whats working.

The way I do it is to create a sub-folder with a separate php redirect in each so..

              FreeOffers.com/iphone

              Or jachu2's method would be

              iphone.FreeOffers.com

With the redirect taking place in CPanel at a guess, or you could use a php redirect file in the root folder for the sub-domain instead.

Oh yeah, that's actually what I was thinking. Subfolder looks cleaner in url to me.

                Either way can work.

So just to review, I would create the subfolder, then upload a txt file with this stuff on it (halfway down the page):

                Prosper202 Self Hosted Apps

Then I edit that code to redirect to offer page.
Then I just link to that page instead of directly to offer.

I suppose there's a way to use a squeeze page with this method (to build a list for myself too). But I am still trying to figure out that part, and there's no rush.

                Thanks.

To stop people seeing affiliate links or whatever been seen associated with any previous businesses. I would encourage you to use NameCheap. They offer free privacy and are reasonably priced. GoDaddy has $3 .INFO atm by the looks of it, with privacy on top. Don't be letting all the other affiliates know your operation, get the privacy.

Not quite what I do, it would be a PHP file, with a header redirect at the top pointing to the Clickbank / CPA offer. Like this :

                  <?php
                  header( 'Location: hxxp://vendorcrap.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=123' ) ;
                  ?>

You could also do a double meta refresh redirect, but this doesn't work with Chrome and can still send the referer. I have another redirect method I won't reveal that clears the referer using Javascript and PHP. This isn't so important for Clickbank, but useful if you don't want your affiliate network to know where all the traffic is coming from.

You don't need Prosper to run affiliate links, but it sure helps to see whats working. You would set up prosper on a sub-domain and create the links within it to separate offers. Prosper gives you the different links, you could just use those or mask them as well with a shortner or another redirect. This tends to cause speed issues with all the redirects tho, and you will probably get time outs, especially for visitors who have poor connections.

I'm going to have to ask a friend about that "file + header redirect" just so I don't beat the issue to death and/or use up your patience. Or I'll just google header redirects. The "file" is just a text file tho, isn't it?

                    Thanks for the help.

Create a text file in any editor, paste the code above in bold into it. Change the name of the URL to your affiliate offer. Save it as - index.php. Drop it in your sub-folder, then navigate to your domain with the sub-folder appended. It should go to the offer. Example address would be - FreeOffers.com/iphone

I use this for YouTube links, but it can work in any situation you need a re-direct. It can pass the referer tho so I only use this for YT usually, and generally its with Clickbank offers. I usually use Prosper for CPA offers so I can track whats going on. That's a separate method tho to the one above so there are a few ways to do it. Your best bet is to read more on this forum, and Google some of my points to learn more. Then test it all. The best way to learn is to get stuck in and you'll soon pick it up.

I agree. Have to be careful.

OK so create your own website with a name similar to your channel, for example goldbiz-myyoutubechannel.com and pipe the videos to your own site. From there you can promote peerfly and other affiliate programs.

Also, this is important, do not grab other people's content as Google will flag you. Instead, get completely legal content from sites like videoblocks - I pay $99 per year. That you can use.

I've seen the trial, I'll give it a look. You can never have too many resources, and for $178 a year it seems a fair deal, just not as good as $99..

I got in at $99 a year. But even at $178 a year, Video Blocks is a great deal, especially when you look at what other charge for stock video, stock music, sound efx and AE templates.

Plus, Video Blocks has a very good TOS/usage license.

Well that's what I figured--just did it that way because that's the way the video showed me how to do it. It doesn't work; lesson learned. Main problem is, I dont know what kind of video I'm supposed to make for a Cosmetics/Makeup offer. I could easily use images and stuff, but it would cause copyright issues if the logo is shown anywhere. And I'm not about to pay somebody for a phony review/testimonial; I don't get down like that.

That was just an experiment. The idea of making a whole bunch of videos appeals to me (cheap and easy). And if it works, I would gladly get a separate domain for it and set it up properly. But, first, I'm just trying a few things to see what works.

      Hi Luke,

IMO, Peerfly should reword or reconsider the requirement of "owning" to "have permission to use the video/audio content". For example, there are numerous stock video sites, as well as stock image sites, that give usage rights, either for free or for a fee.

While video creators don't "own" the rights to these resources, they can legally and ethically use them. Requiring affiliates to actually "own" every media file in a video significantly restricts how videos can be made and eliminates a huge number of legit options.

I'm pretty sure that using media with permission is the intent/spirit of the Peerfly agreement, but it isn't the "letter of the law" and the wording should be addressed.

You are not allowed to direct link PeerFly offers on Twitter (Twitter considers it spam). If you want to promote you should create your own landing page and funnel traffic to the offer through that.

If you setup your own domain and want to try a redirect contact me so I can double check everything is compliant
